Bitcoin currently is very good at eliminating counterparty risk and providing anti-censorship for payments. Many people are hoping this leads to other benefits like low transaction fees, micropayments and privacy. The blockchain doesn't seem like the best solution for these other features but it may provide a foundation for innovation. I have hope that new layers will be built on top of bitcoin to solve these issues (see open transactions for example).
The sad thing is that the right time to invest is when things are looking bleak (and I think we may still have a ways to go down) but most people are drawn in when the price is high. So for those of you on the sidelines, I think we may have some good opportunities to get in during the coming months.
And also note that it is 3:30 am in San Francisco. Go to bed coinbase-craig!
You can import privkeys. It's kind of hard to find though - you have to go to account -> integrations and look for the paper wallet import.
