The learning curve is so low that yes.

Try it for <20mins and if you don't like it, leave it behind. These 20mins include installation, setup, everything.

Except as the article says, names tend to stick, scopes don't.

This PaymentService grew into fraud detection. So the new hire will be even more confused. Asking "What does Picard do?" is natural, where a new hire might have trouble asking "What does the PaymentService do?"

I don't get that at all. To me the answer is "we want things out of the vcs that we don't get from git nor github/gitlab."

The fundamental difference is: sqlite is a cathedral, git is for bazaars. That's kind of a big deal.

(disclaimer: I'm not Deaf, just interested in ASL.)

Signs very geographically even in ASL. (See: https://www.reddit.com/r/asl/comments/dcvqo9/is_there_much_d...)

Wouldn't your argument hold for spoken languages as well? Why do we have french and spanish? Because it would be impossible to force most people to learn the other language.

English is the widely spoken for economical reasons and yet that's only 13% of the world population.

No sign language has that kind of pull. We would need TV shows / movies that pushed a particular sign. The internet helps but how do you prevent groups from drifting?

At some point accents become dialect that become languages. Written ASL doesn't seem to be growing.

Why do people communicate in different languages? Because they live in slightly disconnected social circles.

IANAP but black holes evaporate without losing information. So in your model, how does that work?

Also, observation is that inflation has been ongoing for a long time, we don't seem to have spikes of growth. Afaik we have basically 2 phases one where inflation dominates and the one prior.

I don't know Portuguese, but from what I can understand the pun translates perfectly to Spanish. Incidentally, pun also translates to fart.

– ¿Para qué sirve una barriga vacía? – Em, ¡Pa' nada!"

This seems to me a "how" disguised. Presumably, you WANT the answer to be conducive to people caring about other people. Or would you accept as answer "No, there's no reason to care about others in this situation"?

So if you want a particular answer then you are asking "How can I make it so that people care?"

why have one pivot at all? why can't french be the pivot between spanish and english?

if we must have one and you believe in euroversals, then german and/or french might be better than english…

Assume have an equation like `Energy = 0`, where `Energy = Mass + Photons`. It works great for almost everything, we can get the curvature of space by `f(Energy)` where `f(Photons) = 0`.

However there's this one experiment that says the answer is `Energy = 42`. `f(x)` is still useful, everything else works.

We can just amend the equation to be: `Energy = Mass + Photons + DarkMatter` where `DarkMatter = -42` and `f(DarkMatter) = 0`.

Or we can keep the E=M+P but change the way f works to be: `f(Photons, X) = Y` where for almost any value `f(Photons, X') = 0` and in this one case `f(Photons, X") = 42`.

To me it's clear that the first approach is less complicated. The first approach raises one question, "why -42?" The second approach raises "why does X?" exist and "why 42?"

By the way, you are mistaken, we do interact with Dark Matter, that's how we detected it (Bullet Cluster). Gravity does interact with it.

An implicit assumption is that the universe is isotropic and homogenous at that scale. Meaning, it looks the same from any point and any direction.

So you might not detect photons in one particular direction, but we should assume that they should be going in all directions. Otherwise that theory is just moving the goal from "where's this energy" to "why is it pointing towards that".

CMB is consistent with, every direction is the same, so you would have to say "photons are going everywhere in this range, but towards that in this segment of the spectrum".

Is it possible to update a phone without the user accepting the change (with the phone locked)?

Do you want such a tool (the one the removes the security of updating) to exist so that anyone with physical access can replace the OS with something else?
