I recommend 'Untrap for YouTube'[1] - it lets you selectively block YouTube UI elements. I use the free to redirect the homepage to my subscriptions feed and block all recommendation algorithms. Now I only see content from channels I've explicitly chosen to follow, with no algorithmic suggestions tempting me to spend more time on YouTube.

The pro version could also provide you the delayed launch that you asked for.

First getting diagnosed, medicated and therapy. CBT is an amazing tool to help you rewire your thought processes and self image. (Access to therapy might vary based on your location/healthcare system but I cannot recommend it enough)

Therapy is only the first step to give you the capabilities to allowing you to effectively “expose” yourself to more social situations like many others have already commented.

Not surprising seeing how he bought this tank disarmed and was trying to rearm it.

Given the strong gun laws in Germany, I think he's lucky to get away with a fine for illegally acquiring a tank, anti-aircraft cannon, mortar, torpedo as well as an assortment of guns.

There is the "Kriegswagfenkontrollgesetz" (law to control weapons of war) that deals with owning and trading these kind of things.

I feel the same way. I've never been diagnosed with ADHD but can relate to all the descriptions of it here.

In the past I jokingly said I need the stress and I think it holds true. In high pressure/thight deadline situations I can work with a high focus for hours but struggle working on projects which are going smooth.

Could like point out the studies you mentioned?

The studies concerning long-term impact of surgical checklists I found all claim an improvement.

Sustained use of the checklist was observed with continued improvements in process measures and reductions in 30-day surgical complications almost 2 years after a structured implementation effort that demonstrated marked, short-term reductions in harm. The sustained effect occurred despite the absence of continued oversight by the research team, indicating the important role that local leadership and local champions play in the success of quality improvement initiatives, especially in resource-limited settings.

When you compare Cloud Run vCPU pricing with preemtible VMs it becomes nearly 13x the price.

Most use cases could trade startup delay for reduced costs by running GKE with preemtible nodes and Cloud Run on top of it. Otherwise "normal" Cloud Run and Cloud Run on GKE could be combined into a system where on the first request an instance on serverless Cloud Run is started and simultaneously an GKE Cloud Run instance of the same container is ramped up to take over.

Most model based UML tools provide this feature. You can create diagrams that show the different component in detail as a white box. In another diagram where you show the interaction between the components, you can reuse your white box diagrams as a single blackbox component object. Clicking on the blackbox element takes you to the white box view of the element.

It will get even more interesting if you get decent federation support between your local GKE clusters and GCP GKE cluster allowing you to scale out to the cloud if you run out of capacity in your local cluster.

I also seems like the projects have different architectures. The author claimed they were copying his code and modifying it for their "weird event system they added". It is not clear to what degree they changed any of his code or if they only used his project is an inspiration.

While using a general data transport format instead of Java object serialization is great for most applications it cannot replace all usecases.

JVM based distributed grid computing services use Java object serialization to distribute queries throughout the grid. This allows users to write their queries as arbitrary Java code which will be executed on every node without having to deploy the code on every node.

The book describes how the board vouched for the initial integrity of Theranos and Holmes. Because of the high calibers of the board members they were taken as character witnesses.

The boarded included:

* former Secretary of State George Shultz

* William Perry (former Secretary of Defense)

* Henry Kissinger (former Secretary of State)

* Sam Nunn (former U.S. Senator)

* Bill Frist (former U.S. Senator and heart-transplant surgeon)

* Gary Roughead (Admiral, USN, retired)

* James Mattis (General, USMC)

* Richard Kovacevich (former Wells Fargo Chairman and CEO)

* Riley Bechtel (chairman of the board and former CEO at Bechtel Group)

Isn't this a case for a microservices, etc.?

Independent teams providing business capabilities through APIs would mostly eliminate the need to keep consistent technologies as long as the interface design follows shared guidelines.
