Interesting the tyranny of "you read my message and didn't reply right away" is strong enough for iOS 14 to allow to mark a message as unread. Doesn't this make the whole point of read receipts moot, actually?

I secretly hope this read-receipts feature (anti-feature?) is coming to an end. I believe read-receipts should be a per-message option or be discarded from apps. I know read-receipts can be disabled as a user choice, but most people expect them nowadays (me too, to be honest). It's that very expectation that I'm questioning and for which I suggest we should at least have a specific notion of ethics or politeness.

How is none of these threads about Assange extradition on the front page? I seem to remember this was used by emacs' mode embedding the w3m browser. It was great to read long structured documentation sites by just pressing space-bar to "scroll" through pages.

I agree we should take better care of our sound quality. That being said I don't manage to get an idea what's worth it. Network quality is part of the equation. Macbook's microphones seem to sound pretty good. Shure SM7B looks great but it's 380€... How much better is the sound on your contacts' ears is what I'm wondering about. Any feedback/idea?

I'll also mention the Taiwanese competitor: Taitung. I've not tried it but I'm very curious of their traditional model TAC-20S (http://www.tatung.com/Product/Consumer/258) that looks very simple but it's supposed to prevent burning food as opposed to the basic rice cookers.

I've been "cooking" all food with extremely basic rice cookers for the last years. More advanced ones are tempting but Joshirushi looks a bit complicated, I have a taste for dumb appliances.

Also, under these brands I don't find rice cookers small enough. My current one (3 cups, I guess) is perfect for rice and vegetables for one meal.

Please let me know what websites you're thinking of! What I like with this one is the historical view and the attempt at devising new ways with simple tech.

I've not tried the tool but, given the main picture on your page, I like the apparent easiness to align text on columns. Structuring notes is where handwriting is difficult to beat so you're on an interesting track.

Seems even more possible to me that a grandmother can use something that's fascinating a kid to tell them about bad things looming. That's somehow enchanting the situation.
