While that’s also true, the EU varies widely. The tax wedge is very low in places like Czechia or Lithuania and very high in France and Germany. If you add other European countries you get some of the lowest taxes on earth in places like the Isle of Man or Switzerland.

Having said that, the lack of proper integration is a huge problem, like imposing tarrifs of over 100% on ourselves.

The problem isn’t incorporation - it’s having accountants in your jurisdiction familiar with the structure. You can incorporate in the UK for £50 instantly but you might have trouble finding an accountant in Italy that is willing to sort your accounts out.

Estonian fiscal law doesn’t apply if your company operates from Croatia. The only reason you can’t do this in practice is because you’ll have a hard time finding a Croatian accountant willing to work with your Estonian company. That’s something EU-inc aims to address.

It is indeed. The arguments are so poor and obviously ideological. To give one example, it would necessarily imply that every war is an example of genocide.

Experts aren’t taking it seriously, but then again the UN has not been a serious organisation for as long as I can remember. Some serious scrutiny needs to be made of that organisation.

Genocide is a very particular crime, I’m not sure what the obsession with it is. It’s evident that there are examples of war crimes.

It’s such a non issue but these are the same people that wanted to change the name of Rubocop because it makes reference to policing. Or motherboard, whiteboard or blackboard because they’re patriarchical white supremacist heteronormative neo colonial etc etc pomo fashionable nonsense. There’s really not an iota wrong with making reference to these terms. It’s really an insult to everyone’s intelligence.

This is not true at all in the case of unions. Salaries are much higher in the US than in other equivalent economies with higher levels of unionisation.

Now worker representatives in boards, that would be very beneficial.

That’s bollocks. He is providing huge amounts of value - consumer surplus and producer surplus. That’s like saying the creator and maintainer of a machine are useless because the machine does all the work, shall we stop using trains and employ millions of people to transport things on foot because it would employ more people doing strenuous work? As he said so himself, people were taking hours a day doing this before he came along with his skillset.

That’s what’s happening. Publications like Substack are letting authors escape the censors. Others still like Quillette, Aero, Spiked and more traditional ones like the Spectator have an anti woke consensus mission - and they represent the entire political spectrum.

I’m not sure about book publishers but the change is happening across media more widely. The progressive left keeps getting hammered in elections in Europe at least, but it seems certain institutions are going the other way, not least media.
