The iOS app still requires an internet connection to sync anything.

That still doesn't mean it was sent to Nigeria. It just confirms that, for whatever reason, the author assumed the recipient was in Nigeria. The recipient may have very well been in Nigeria but he offers no definitive evidence.

I'd guess that their customer service would take a different, 21st century approach. I'd never call customer support for a gmail or google calendar issue...maybe a similar approach will emerge with these plans

Great response. For the "retired" who stayed on, what sort of impact did their newfound attitudes have on things? Did they play a part in any of the major new products or improvements that came later?

Agree 100%. I use Evernote for longer notes, but a Moleskine for quickies.

This is MUCH better than the reddit version. If they're okay with you doing this, I whole-heartedly support your efforts here and wish you the best of luck with this endeavor

This is a big deal to HN types, but not necessarily to all other demographics on the internet. If he could guesstimate that a large majority of his users were active FB users, the single log-in option may be worth the trade-off

Product Manager here. Are most PM's really that non-technical?

Not sure if you'd still consider it a startup, but PayPal has a great name that complements their service extremely well.

Looks almost exactly like S3, except I don't think Amazon provides a drag-and-drop interface through their web-client. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

I know a lot of HNer's tend to dislike FB, but I can't think of a faster way to get the word out of missing children than this.

I'm often taken aback when I hear/read these kind of comments. It shows the gulf between most web users and a minority of techies.

I live in Japan and often access FB through my cheap, simple Softbank phone and service.

Unfortuantely, I can't take screenshots but FB has done a great job of making it easy to use. It even leverages various common emoticons as icons for everything ranging from "Home" to "Search" to "Messages".

And btw, it wasn't always this way; they made the change earlier this year.

I wish there was some context there.

Can you (or anyone) elaborate on "The founders, employees, and other insiders of Groupon have already been handsomely paid off."? My understanding is that the handsome payoff comes when the company is either bought out or IPO's
