Interesting. Trying to find some sort of correlation between this and the core business of Netflix. Not sure they relate with each other. What does that means? Netflix devs are "tired" hehe. :)

I understand his frustration. I'm not saying that I agree with the whole misleading or misunderstanding that may have happened.

Unfortunately we don't live more in a society that keeps their promise, word and honor. So, having everything written is a great way to protect yourself and others.

But this is a good lesson to learn: what is not written, does not exist.

Hello from Orkut 10 years ago

It is strange for me in a era with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, LinkedIN to imagine a new social network.

Nothing against it, just sound as a enormous work to learn this soon-to-be-sensation of the internet. We keep looking for ways to improve our social relationship and skills, but in the end we still in from of a computer texting and prioritizing the people that is far, instead of the people that is closer.

It seems to me that social networks are really good at keeping closer those that are far and keeping far, those that are closer.

For me it sounds so strange a company that does not does a basic "due diligence". Even with people that I've just met I will do my personal due diligence.

We live in days that "trust" is something that you acquire after a time, not something that you suppose that others may have.

No, working fine here, but it seems that they had some issues: https://status.slack.com/

7:14am PDT - We have identified and resolved the connectivity issues impacting some customers. Further updates will follow shortly. 7:10am PDT - We've observed that some users are currently unable to connect . We are investigating and will update shortly.

Marketing, marketing and marketing...

Digital Ocean is doing lots of advertising but their servers are not holding the traffic.

I had my website hosted with them and I was literally unable to connect on it via SSH due to the low quality of their link.

I was disappointed with DreamHost, moved to Digital Ocean, now I am testing Linode.

In the end when I read "Combatting Fake Progress" it sound so real. It seems that so many companies are trapped in real bondages and they just seems to be running without any kind of plans.

You don't need just a great idea, you need to set a finance strategy that can follow this idea. A VC or others investors, does not mean that you will survive. Keep an eye open and do a balance forecast. It seems basic, but it is always forgotten.
