I submitted two Show HN posts with link to my Hacker News iOS Client app, the first post didn't got a single point, I was so disappointed that I just deleted it.

The second post got 4 points and brings about 120 page views to my app's website, and about 10 sales for the next 24 hours. After that only about 1~2 download per day.

It's an app for reading Hacker News on iOS, 100 percent HN target market, so maybe my app just sucks? I really don't know.

I really want to get feedbacks on this, what kind of Hacker News iOS App do you want? or you just use Safari?

Maybe I should submit tomorrow.

Spent months working hard on my app, then it go to second page within an hour.

Sorry!

To me, a good design at least has 16px font size! ;)

And easy to scan, easy to find what I want, fast...etc

Effective Design.

And many people make money from it. They blog about it, write book about it, and there are even some GTD group, meetup etc... They profit!

But the whole thing is a paradox. The things those people are getting done is write/talk/think about the "getting things done" stuff. But if they do, they are no getting things done.

It's fun to think this way XD.

I think if you care about the GTD stuff itself too much, you are no getting things done at all.

Maybe you just doing fake work, getting some fake motivation from a list of GTD advice which you will lose while you continue reading HN, twitter, etc.

In my opinion, getting things done is just 3 simple step.

get thing!

do it!

done!

both python and ruby is easy to start and powerful, so just pick one you like.

As me, I learn python first as my scripting tool(web scraping, system automate task).

Then I switch to ruby,it have some suger for you to write less code to complete same task.
