Are we really all so spoiled that everything has to be delivered as a shiny, perfect solution?

Any idea of how much of their code is still primarily PHP? Curious myself.
I've seen people use them as a way to replace pauses in speech. I see it more with boomers / Gen-X.
example:
he isn't wrong... why do you think that ... it's a good thing
Well, now that AI makes heavy use of it, I've been using it less. AI LOVES it.
I've been using double hyphens (which auto-corrects to emdash now) for as long as I can remember. Now that it's a marker of AI, I find myself removing it whenever I reply to comments.
Same as my bank pin too!
Also, on TMobile if you dial #662#, it'll block the Scam Likely calls at the carrier.
I have my phone set to silence Unknown callers. What did you have setup on the Pixel before to block them?
Scams have gotten better since AI. Most of the common spelling mistakes are gone.
I was looking through some phishing e-mails the other day out of curiosity and found a weird unicode character mistranslated. Immediately knew it was an artifact of bad translation. So they're not perfect, but they're damn good.
Can't wait to buy from some west coast hipster with a garage fab now that it's economically viable. /s
The ESP32-C6 has a Zigbee radio. I have 6 myself -- they're great.
There's ways that prevent it - - Freeze all code after an update through permissions - Don't make most directories writeable - Don't allow file uploads, or limit file uploads to media
There's a few plugins that do this, but vanilla WP is dangerous.
Hey Pete --
Love the article - you may want to lock down your API endpoint for chat. Maybe a CAPTCHA? I was able to use it to prompt whatever I want. Having an open API endpoint to OpenAI is a gold mine for scammers. I can see it being exploited by others nefariously on your dime.
Cloudflare and Google use CAPTCHAs to sell web scrapers? I don't get your point. I was under the impression the data is used to train models.
This isn't really something you'd ship in a car though. It's cool that we have such a rich ecosystem of devices that this can be made "off-the-shelf" - but for production use in a car? Not really practical.
What an awesome dad! Lived during the golden age of photography and retired before its demise.
Did people just... do this by hand (in software), transistor by transistor, or was it laid out programmatically in some sense? As in, were segments created algorithmically, then repeated to obtain the desired outcome? CPU design baffles me, especially considering there are 134 BILLION transistors or so in the latest i7 CPU. How does the team even keep track of, work on, or even load the files to WORK on the CPUs?
The average vape has more processing power than Voyager, and the iPhone is orders of magnitude more complex. With that said, it takes skilled engineers to squeeze perfectly crafted code into such a tiny platform from the 70s.
My cheapest HT can do this. And my 20 year old radio can do it. So not sure about "exotic"
I downloaded Unshaky to help this out:

You can set custom timings per key, which is useful for particularly difficult keys.
Yeah, I remember reading this.
Doesn't this really only apply to devices with GPS?
Where's the form to apply for Alpha? :)
I spent years on the self-medication supplement train. I still take Vitamin D and a few other modest supplements, but I finally got REAL relief after just biting the bullet and trying nearly every anti-depressant under the sun. After a few, my doctor did a DNA test to determine gene-drug interaction because of the wild results I was having. Thankfully, this was covered under my insurance. It shed a lot of light on why many of the pills I had taken failed -- the test showed they're likely to have bad reactions based on my genes.
We used the information to choose Viibyrd, a fairly new anti-depressant (2011). I've kind of become an evangelist for it since.
It works like a traditional SSRI but also affects the 5-HT1A receptors. Another great feature of the medication is that it usually takes less than a week to notice results -- and results I noticed.
I've been plagued with anxiety since age 18 and depression since I was a kid. For the first time in 11 years, I'm anxiety free. For the first time in a long time, I'm nearly depression free.
The best part? I'm myself. I'm not dull. I'm not a zombie. Some of my other impulsivity and ADHD symptoms vanished. I'm way more productive, social, and less afraid to take on life.
It was fun and interesting to do the whole supplement stack, but ultimately a huge time and money waster. I spent far less time going to my Psychiatrist and trying different options to get REAL results.
I feel like in many ways Nootropic supplements are the Homeopathy for Nerds -- we're using cutting edge research to anecdotally try to fix our issues, and ignoring that even we're just as susceptible to the placebo effect as the rest of the population.
Here's a good read that's sort of on topic about the stigma of medication and mental illness:

So, serious question: Why do you use console e-mail?
I had a nightmare strangely similar to this recently...
You can also send your GPS location through the API.
Or just use this handy node package. I used it to auto like 22,000 people in LA, and went on dates for 9 days in a row. Let's just say I'm a bit exhausted.

I'd say this is easier in a society like Sweden, with a homogeneous culture and relatively small population.
Mmmm tax dollars. So tasty.
Sweet. I made an LED suit with some Arduino stuff. Check out my approach:
