We built data centers for decades without issue.

One I used to service frequently is actually surrounded by a large area of green-space, trees, marsh area, wildlife. The houses that border it are highly desirable as you effectively have an extension of a massive yard and great views relative to the suburban area surrounding it.

Somehow things changed and it's a bit surreal.

That seems like a very Cuban "do as I say" kinda thing without much thought to it.

So when the company has trouble the employees are potentially out of a job and their stock drops?

This seems like an eggs in one basket situation.

Is that something that happens?

I’ve owned company stock and I’ve never noticed a situation where the employees owned enough to make a difference in how the company operates.

The only exception being a company designed to be employee owned…

I'm not really a music video watching person but the output of these videos seem almost like non serious memes mocking music videos.

Generally the SCOTUS majority seems to feel "It's ok if our president does it." when it it comes to most things.

The few times they disagree they let it stand (like tariffs) and allows the government to collect illegal taxes from the people, and then just shrug at the end with "well guess that was wrong"... and the citizens get nothing back.

As far as I can tell Ive's expertise isn't "build a platform".

I still bring that up when I get to discussing the weird days of the Internet when it felt like people were just trying all kinds of things left and right.

We’ve been building data centers for many decades, but now it’s a big issue. I’ve seen neighbors (well presumably based on their posts) up in arms over old tiny data centers they never knew were there.

There is a surreal component to all this.

Those days of the internet were fun, but also a product of their times. Whatever niche worlds we make now won’t be like the past, they have to be new.

In my time pirating I used to take tracks from The Sound Of Music and rename the files / metadata something like <popular metal band> - <popular song by different popular metal band>.

I got a lot of downloads.

Is there really any answer to this kinda thing other than having a diversified portfolio and just riding it out?

Can the existing AI leaders sort of turtle up / cut research and … be profitable with what they have?

It should be very easy. But for whatever reasons they chose to make this the people’s problem… constantly.

Same goes for age ID things too.

The unintended consequence of poorly thought out regulations (good or bad) can be wild.

I’m still having to deal with making some sort of legal agreement with EVERY website I visit over cookies constantly… I just don’t care anymore / click whatever.

It’s funny too because I’ll ask fairly simple things and it’s fine, similarly simple question might spin up a bunch of sub agents and I don’t know why….

I feel like maybe it could have asked for clarification or something rather than go and try to calculate all the digits of pi all of a sudden.

A lot of these long crossings seem to involve a serious amount of chance as far as conditions go.

Yeah every job transition I’ve managed I was straightforward and some new employers instructed me to do so.

It’s weird too, these people’s history will show up on job sites and etc, people will find out… fast.

The examples seem clumsy and amateurish.

Is popular sentiment a good measure for a decision? Anti lots of things have been growing at some points in history, including bad things.

I feel like governments have so many options for hacking that forking open source and dealing with all that is likely more work than whatever outcome they hope for.

You don’t have to explain anything… that’s your call. A claim with nothing to support it doesn’t change either.

An example would be very interesting and yes explaining what they’re up to would be interesting as well.

Otherwise it sounds like a made up conspiracy theory….
