That’s a very good point. Why not negotiate a deal over the past 15 years, why leave their customers and company hanging on a key invalidation.

You’d have to agree that the current owners are “controlling the defacto public square” a magnitude less than the previous ones. I don’t think asking a tiny % of twitter users to use their products interfaces instead of third parties is very controlling, but shadow banning, and censoring topics is incredibly.
I’d guess Ads and it’s confusing the enhancements and rapid product development they are shipping.
Makes sense.
In what way are they good? How they provide revenue for twitter.
Do you have a source on your assumption of costs and benefits
I agree, but it is 2023 now, it’s not super important how Twitter was founded.
Twitter makes a great news reader. Never read replies. Facebook is cancer.
I agree it does seem folks are reevaluating their social life, lucky that was happening before Elon.
You think coffee is “alt” right?
Really puts “I’m leaving twitter” and 7 day suspensions into perspective.
That last bit about making mistakes but at least decisions are being made is important. Also connects well with what we have seen in the first 6 weeks of Elon Twitter.
Does the executive team reply to you in under an hour and Handle it?
The point is they didn’t complain because they were aligned with the people asking them to handle, and they also handled it real quick, not stand tos report flow for sure.
What is wild? Musk has said for a long time Twitter needs 75% less staff. What did you expect firing that many people to look like?
He is pushing the limits (and maybe finding them) of how quickly you can correct head count in a larger company. We won’t know if his actual vision for the product is bad until he gets done with this transitional period and can start releasing updates. Basically I’d argue not much happened yet but HR meetings.
Care to wager?
While the rest of tech a d the stock market are way up this year!

Why is this on HN?
In Ventura you have to click to download most wallpaper options, so they must have recognized the issue.
Sounds like media has broken you too. I’m sorry, but we are so far from fucked, the glass is more than half full even
More like 99.9 and .1%
Why?
ICU nurses wear N95 masks that are fitted and tested (a bad tasting/smelling aerosol is used). It is completely sealed around the face. This is how my SIL did COVID ICU for 1.5 years every week without contracting it. Not the same as the one size fits all n95 people loosely place on their faces.
How did you lock it like that, I’m not aware of that being an option in screen time. Thanks.
Not to mention the incredibly fake content that gets heaps of upvotes and attention. Which encourages the next fake to one up and so on.
ZHA is great and fast, I prefer it instead of zigbee2mgtt. I have 100+ zigbee devices and 80 z-wave.
I’d say very likely canceled quietly. Otherwise they are just taking the punishment twice, there isn’t a change they could make that would allow them to go live with this kind of thing at a later date and not get raked over the coals.
Do you recall who the service provider was for the organization. Like SportEngine (owned by NBC) etc…?
I think this is a major issue since most are large companies that can and will sell that data to highest bidder.
Interesting theory, maybe DO should partner with Apple.
It should not be so difficult for the head of security of the largest company on the planet to get a CCW permit. That is the problem. The system is so flawed, you have no choice but to play the game (bribe). You can't just not have a CCW in the position he holds.
