To put it politely, the above is shortsighted. The Third Reich was engaged in genocide carried out with conveyor belt efficiency. It murdered tens of millions of people in the name of racial purity. Enslavement was merely means of temporary cheap labor - make no mistake about it, the goal was extermination of those it deemed genetically imperfect. FDR, fortunately, understood exactly what was at stake - humanity as a whole was at stake.
+1 on namespacing. You want to pick your own prefix and use in both places - for example: gmd-dial and gmd.dial

Otherwise, once the dialer angular component explodes, and AUI comes out with their own competing directive, a client programmer using both yours and AUI's modules will have a problem.
Maybe I am off, but that read almost like sarcasm (see reference to "copious free time" in fine print).
Although I cannot find the URL, I recall reading somewhere that, on average, Amazon prices were 9% lower than big boxes' (BBY, et al). not clear whether that was 'bottom line' price comparison (in which case AZN's prices would not include tax whereas brick & mortars' would. Now that AZN agreed to collect sales taxes for a number of states that delta will shrink.
But, I do believe that convenience of easy ordering (for lazy ppl like me), is bigger differentiator than a couple of percentage points on pricing.
Good question. I am a Russian speaker - ran the same searches on google.ru and got much better results (than google.se). Were Google.ru's results better than Yandex? Probably not.
Perhaps the problem isn't quite as fundamental (non-English NLP sucks) but has more to do with secondary Locale handling in specific countries?
Interesting observation on US-centricity (is that a word?) nonetheless. Many major US Corps derive > 50% rev from outside of US. Not sure if GOOG is one of those.

I'd agree that the Apple app store is a pretty close comparison. However, wonder how one would compare the value FB delivers for their 30% in fees to the value, say, ebay delivers to the auction sellers for the ~3-5% (guess) they charge in posting & paypal fees?
