Ah! Fantastic! I have been wanting to do this exact same project. I have been held back by trying to choose a screen. I want something REALLY dim at night.

In the end, I created a custom watchface for an amazfit band 7 that I had lying around and that worked decently, actually.

Why do you still think it's ok to override default scrolling behavior just to create a buggy mess so that is scrolls "smooth"?

/s

There is a bug, if you scroll down and then press the home icon, it takes you to the top, but if you start scrolling again it goes back to the original position. Please do not override default scrolling

Page looks nice tho

That was a long time ago. In 2014 they took a bite of the poisoned apple and received 40 mil. I can imagine that's where the rat race began, till they sold to this MediaLab company in 2021.

I can imagine anything of value, both culturally and technologically, is just being squeeze for any possible penny.

I am pretty AI-skeptic. But I just tried to create a little tool with Junie, and I'm quite in shock. It was SO good I barely had to do anything.

Personally, I still think that they shouldn't be relied upon too heavily, but if you already know what you are doing, some of these tools can definitely give you a big boost.

I am not sure about a "professional" experience. But my personal one is that I had my parents install it on their machine years ago, and since it's running stable and without great changes or weird banner or any other silly stuff that would break the flow.

I can log in remotely and help them. It is also easy to install and run, which is also bonus points.

For me, this smooth experience has been a godsent. When I used TeamViewer I feel like every time I would use it, sometimes months apart, it would break or something would change.

For those unaware, this comment is referring to premium bonds in the UK[1]. It is a very interesting system, I agree! But there are quite a few parts of the system that make it way more fair than a lottery.

Most obviously, it doesn't cost to enter. So the most you can "lose" is a missed interest income from putting the money in another source.

After that, it's definitely the fact that the algorithm is designed to both pay a certain percentage of people and always have specific return. [1]

You are also limited to how much you can enter to 50k.

With all that in mind, at the end of the day it feels like many small wins over time, with the super random chance of occasionally having a big-ish payout.

It's definitely designed to feel like a lottery, but in reality is way more akin to normal savings than a lottery.

install the plugin and enjoy? what specifically is keeping you?

if you just type in the search bar it will automatically use Kagi so there isn't really any friction.

JetBrains AI 3 years ago

I've been trying it out on a small project for the last few hours and I am quite enjoying it! I tried copilot and was very disappointed.

I think this needs some fine tuning(it keeps trying to remove my comments), but other than that it's probably the only tool I felt comfortable other than copy pasting from chatGPT, which obviously doesn't include diff or context of the project.

Yeah it's a shame it's not included in the all products pack, but for the amount of power I get for my buck, I'm pretty happy with JetBrains overall!

For personal stuff, the biggest expense it's time. Everything else--in the early days--can probably be founded with a handful of dollars a month. That would be hosting expenses and a domain name. And hosting can probably be tackled without payment too.

If you have to spend more than that I would question if you are trying to do too much too soon.
