Not really sure the point that you're trying to make here. You seem to be implying that anyone living anywhere in Ukraine (such as Kyiv) is under constant threat of getting bombed by Russia, while jjjei3 is saying that Ukraine is relatively safe.

If you're so sure its so dangerous there, maybe you can pull up statistics about number/rate of shooting deaths there compared to the US?

"a system that will automatically sin up a github project with a pull-request to review, or an issue to fix. Further test-types are planned but I will launch with these two. No matter the skill level of an IC engineer, they will need to carry out effective code reviews and fix bugs. I think that the PR test will be good for senior candidates while the bug fix test will be good for junior - mid-level engineers."

being able to work remotely in the EU for a US based company is a huge deal. I just have to get the US based employer to agree to use a payroll company as an intermediary to deal with payroll taxes

Can you expand on this point? Fellow US-EU dual citizen and cultural American here, looking to do the same thing, for similar health reasons.

In Georgia (where my alma mater is), university is essentially free if you can maintain a GPA > 3.5.

Why do I always see that the GA Tech OMSCS is ~$10,000? This is a serious question. If it's essentially free with a good GPA I might actually enroll.

Any advice on apps that facilitate the "Walk Every Street in my city" thing? Ideally just something where I could mark that I've walked a street, or perhaps better can mark that I have walked it, or biked it, and so on.

whatever the business, the part that's fun to me is getting to play with all the little knobs and levers of and seeing whether my choices yielded good results.

I am the exact same way, and yet I struggle to articulate this. People say to me "why would you be excited to own a carwash?" (example biz, I own none right now) and my answer is basically what you said -- its this kind of huge, real world, testing environment/challenge. How can we increase efficiency here? How would modifying the soap mixture affect the cleanliness of the cars? So many inputs and outputs to experiment with, I can't think of anything more interesting....

I also noticed that I had to force myself being productive at night as my executive function wasn't quite there - it was like my mind was used to doing nothing consciously at night, an unconscious part didn't really see a point in being awake and doing things at night - so I mostly just was sitting there, contemplating or meditating. When I made a todo list it was better.

Very interesting. I wonder if this helps to explain why I'm not all that productive when experiencing insomnia, even on the occasions when I say "okay well if I'm gonna be wide awake, I'm gonna get some work done on xyz"

How come I continue to see posts talking about the short float for GME being in excess of 100%?

disclosure: I have no investment in GME, but am hoping to see some hedge funds suffer

I would guess if your parents have a VR headset, a 3D printer, and some sort of home lab that you can tinker around with. And of course, as the OP indicates, without worrying about earning an income.

edit: and probably also superfast internet, and a machine with a GPU, and maybe even some way of setting up a server cluster

Steve Jobs was known to keep his philanthropy very private, although I'm not sure he would qualify for your bar of such initiatives, considering that (AFAIK) he didn't found or spearhead any massive progressive movements.

Part of me wonders if why these billionaires have their names on these projects is to try to buy goodwill? Rather than people just hating the rich in general, if they know that Bill Gates is donating all this money and attempting to help the less fortunate, he's slightly less of a greedy wealthy bastard? I don't see a Jeff Bezos foundation, for example.
