Hi, I got a "Service Unavailable" 503 error for the homepage.

Think about WHO AM I.

I think this is the most important question one can have for his entire life.

I am 28, but I have spent about 15 years to think about who am I? Where am I come from? Where will I go?

And gradually, I get clearer and clearer about it.

And knowing who am I is the greatest source of happiness, strength and calmness.

If you also do this, I think you may understand. You will have small enlightment day by day, and finally a big enlightment.

What you really need to do is keep thinking, and you body will take you to where you belong.

I write down notes in diary form through Notes on macOS.

It's light and fast, enough for casual notes taking. Too complex thing is hard to last.

I have an idea for you.

1. Get to Know what your really what. Think really hard about your goal and make it as clear as possible, whether it's to fuck that girl or make 1 billion money, or rule the world.

2. Listen to a people that you believe. He can be your parents, best friend, a historical person who influenced you most or you admired most, a hero of our days, etc. Reading and talking to random people does not make you act because you never believe what they say. You have to find a concrete person, whether live or dead, he has accomplished the clear goal of yours. Then you communicate with him deeply, know how he succeeded, how he failed, how he progressed, as detailed as possible.

3. Understand that people that who succeeded at your own goal has also once be in the position of yours now. Know what he has done to change it and make progress. You follow him. But of course you will not succeed as him, but you have to be creative to apply his method to your own similar situation. This is hard, but it's more effective to start from thin air.

4. Communicate with that person more(read, talk, listen, think), and follow the path he has walked, adjust your decisions quickly. Remember that if you really know one successful person, you know that success is not a mysterious thing, it has to be related to some real things in life. You need to find that relation and connect yourself with that thing, decision, action or people.

5. Adjust your goal. Because no person knows what he really wants in fact, you may gradually find that your pervious goal is not so attractive, for example that girl is so not great to fuck or live with, that money will get you many trouble, then you have to adjust your goal again and again. The really problem is find what you really want, and it's tough.

Happy to see people from other countries want to know more about China. I am a Chinese Web Developer, and I recommend one really good book for you to read, that is the Shiji(史记), it has good English translation. It's about the history of China before about 100BC.

Here is a good web version: https://ctext.org/shiji

The original Chinese version has half a million characters, and the translation is about 1 million words, I guess.

After reading this classic book, you will know how China forms its political system and also the Chinese way of thinking.

China has a lot of marvelous history books, all worthy to read. Mao Zedong has read them all for many times in his life.

I live in Wuhan, where the second tallest building Wuhan Greenland Center (636m) is being built. I see it everyday, actually I also find this kind of thing weird, but anyway, it's a good name card for a city, and such construction can give many people jobs, moreover, it may attract more business to the city.

Thanks for writing this, as a Chinese Developer, I can get many great and unique opinions on my own country on Hacker News which I would never get on the Internet in China.

I have been watching Sam Altman's sayings for a long time, I believe his judgment is at least reasonable for some reason we cannot see from the article.

Actually as an ordinary Chinese citizen and IT worker, I have always seen SF as the best place in the world to work and create something. However, in recent years, the atmosphere has subtly changed, between Silicon Valley and Beijing, between China and USA.

Such different ideas are always good for understanding the world better.
