If you travel to other countries (for me, Thailand most recently) you'll see almost everyone on Facebook. Most small companies over there don't even have a website, just a FB page.

Devils advocate argument:

I work at an e-commerce company that is designed and incentivized to sell as much product as possible. Are we taking advantage of "shopping addicts"? Where is the line drawn between capitalism and morality?

Sidenote: Casinos also exist to provide entertainment value. I don't mind spending $20 on blackjack just to play with my friends and talk with new people. Just because there is a subset of individuals that can't handle that entertainment responsibly doesn't mean that the business itself is immoral.

Looks like they don't! Must be a different retargeting technique used by Amazon. FB Pixel could have also been on manufacturer's site.

You go to Amazon, they tell Facebook what you are looking at, and then can dynamically create ads specifically for you.

Really cool idea, but I don't know why I would pay a (relatively large) monthly fee for a service that I probably need twice a year, around both my performance reviews.

Quick read and valuable feedback. No idea how they were featured on the App Store for EVERY release, that's pretty insane. Sounds like they couldn't get retention down, but had solid acquisition.

I use Segment at work and think it's great. Their enterprise options are pretty hefty and impressive, good on them for raising the round!

You helped answer the questions yourself. The fact that it was built for statistical analysis means that the syntax and overall flow is REALLY easy to understand and manipulate data with. I imagine someone who is familiar with Python would gravitate towards Pandas or another library, but for the BI that I do every day, R is perfect.

People love saying that BI/Data Science is 80% cleaning data (which may or may not be true), but I've found R to be the best for cleaning up 100k+ rows at a time.

Very true. Even with smaller companies, data sets like events inside an app are too much for Excel. Ever since I picked up R, I haven't touched Excel.

We made an entire mini-gaming platform on iOS with all phaser games. They are quick and challenging; though not big titles by any means. We've found phaser to be perfect for rapid development and prototyping.
