like your breakdown of the 80% solution vs 100%-optimal. Makes a lot of sense!
I did that before too! Honestly, it did feel like gambling a bit. It worked until the company one day went bankrupt.
After that I started looking at newsletter service like Motley Fool, but curious to see if there are other services that people recommend. I have looked at Personal Capital (iPhone app), but haven't booked a session with them yet.
Personally, I have been a turned off by financial advisors.
Thank you for your insights. I also subscribe to Motley Fool as well and benefited from it. I tried reading in the past, and you are absolutely correct, it just either became too consuming and the financial jargons just became less interesting.
Sometimes you just need to start and try it. Get the inertia going.
You can start small. Help a friend or relative and charge them. Get practicing on itemizing cost, project proposal, contract negotiation, collecting money, figuring out how to get paid etc. These are importance freelancing skills outside of just coding.
Exciting! Thanks for the additional info, I definitely have a better picture now.
I think the recruiting industry can definitely use more help from technology.
I think the idea has potential. I am curious what kind of insights and analytics you will be providing.
It would be good to start with a specific audience (e.g. programmers) and use GitHub activity to factor in their professional experience as an example. I can see this being useful for recruiters to screen developer linkedin profiles.
The name predikt implies you plan on predicting something, but I am unclear what you are predicting. Potential salary range? How likely to leave current job? etc.
