If you use Alternate Player for Twitch DDG privacy extension was preventing it from connecting with twitch servers and lose quite a bit functionality as you would always stay logged out. Not sure why it was doing that, but just a PSA regarding same extension
Twitter is not new though. It had sway in 2016 and 2012 elections with prominent personalities doing public relation on the platform. Saying its new to political space is pretty disingenuous

I think the issue with these massive scale apps is that people want better and fresher features which are not always well defined and get lost in the maze of product development of a huge company. They have to make decisions, do we go with web3 stuff or do we improve current NLP system etc etc. Making decisions is much easier for a small startup than a behemoth of twitters size. And yes, it takes many people. 1000 engineers? Maybe not, bloat has set in at that point, but a few hundred for sure.

multigenerational prosperity
With a lot of young people opting out of having kids and trying to find their own way in life, it would make sense that the anti-work and anti-hustler culture is much more prevalent in younger people (millenials being first). Its a generational shift first of all driven by oncoming climate disaster due to over population and will be felt through wars and hungers. Why should young people contribute to such a society and create more suffering in the process.

Actually, maybe not open source, but otherwise that is exactly what would happen should I be suspect of being a thief. No reason why dominion cannot show their source code to professional investigators to get their name cleared right? If they are so vocal about being innocent, why not do it?
My point is that unvetted IP/code shouldn't be used in democratically critical processes such as elections in the fist place, doing so increases the surface area of bad actors to act maliciously.
Instead of filing massive law suits, why doesn't Dominion attempt to prove, without a shadow of a doubt, that the machines were _not_ biased with technical evidence.
I feel that open sourcing their code would definitely do the trick. It is kinda baffling that something as important as an election is ran on closed-source proprietary codebase.
4chan trolling nearly resulted in a coup
A few things:
1. It wasn't a coup, it was a protest to protest the unfair election and overall left wing bias. Same way BLM was to protest the unfairness of how black people are treated.
2. It was mostly organized on Facebook and the general "normie" web
Otherwise homogeneous is whatever demographic you prescribe to and is entirely a self serving concept
Whats wrong with this? I like working closely with people that understand me just by body language and completely frictionless communication. You'd be surprised how valuable that is when you're solving a P0 breakage at 3am.
Asking rhetorical questions of this nature is not achieving anything except airing your hurt sensibilities. People can have opinions other than the ones you hold and I already outlined fairly clearly in my original post what I think.
Heterogeneity is bad for startups because of the need to have no friction communication and shared goals/ideals/experiences. It does _not_ mean that diversity is bad in a big company or overall.
Politically incorrect opinion incoming: the most efficient teams are homogeneous for the same reasons that military battalions are best off being homogeneous.
1. it improves communication
2. shared experiences and culture
3. overall better team cohesion and culture building
I would go almost as far as saying that diversity is a red flag for a startup and that diversity starts to have benefits only in bigger companies
I don't understand how more aid will help rather than exacerbate the problem.
If the previous stimulus checks artificially propped up the economy, gave stock market a boost and led to this Well-off people getting More-well-off effect, how will another stimulus package be any different? The only way I see of doing that is sabotaging the economy (ie, mini-recession) or full on socialist/communist control to distribute the wealth, neither of which sounds pleasant or great in any way shape or form.

I think you underestimate the effect of politics in big tech. Lobbying happens for a reason and big tech does a very big portion of it.
Slippery Slope means just that, persistent and constant escalation of censorship which is exactly what is happening right now. Amazon jumped on the bandwagon behind Google Play and Apple store and Twitch and Facebook for internet SJW points and to not be left behind in the "I don't like what they say" Olympics.
I don't particularly agree with the messages of Parler or lean right at all, I am a staunch libertarian and believe that any and all opinions should be heard.
