We're a group of developers who worked together years ago. We meet a few times a year, but scheduling is always a hassle with endless back-and-forth trying to align everyone's calendars. Frustrated by this, I built Troviamo to solve it automatically. I know similar tools exist, but this one is modern and tailored to exactly what we needed.

Not sure what happened with Claude 3.7, but 3.5 is way better in all things day to day. 3.7 felt like a major step back especially when it comes to coding even though this was highlighted as one aspect they improved upon. 500k window will soon be released for Claude. Not sure much it will improve anything though.

Is it just me who get the feeling that Claude 3.7 is worse than 3.5?

I really like 3.5 and can be productive with it, but with Claude 3.7 it can't fix even simple things.

Last night I sat for 30 minutes just to try to get the new model to remove a instructions section from a Next.js page. It was an isolated component on the page named InstructionsComponent. Failed non-stop, didn't matter what I did, it could not do it. 3.5 did it first try, I even mistyped instructions and the model fixed the correct thing anyway.

My shoutout to Ghostty (by Mitchell Hashimoto & community). Although still in beta, hands down the best terminal I've used on both Mac and Linux.

A prisoner doing time for assault and kidnapping has the audacity to complain about things like this. It is a mockery to the victims that have had their lives ruined by this individual.

Punishment must have a deterring factor to it, imprisonment is just a joke in Sweden right now.

Yes it might be more humane and better conditions for inmates but the problem is that it's too far to the other side.

Instead of having the threat of jail time in a harsh environment, prisoners see it as a resort and a break from the criminal life they are living with full access to almost anything and they even have leave(!?) multiple times during their stay.

Inmates have access to Playstation, Xbox, Netflix etc and better food than the schools serve to our children.

Jail time is a joke as well, armed robbery 2 months, rape 3 months, assault 2-4 months, murder 4 years (with good behavior) and if they commit multiple crimes they get a discount(!?).

I would prefer the harsher variant because now we have an influx of criminals from other places in the world where they have real punishments and they probably just laugh when they get sentenced here.

Completely agree. I spent a lot of time when learning design, "designing" writing code since I was a developer first. That was a lot of time wasted but it took effort and will to learn all the design tools and understand the process for sure, but it was definitely worth it.

Uhm... experience from a large project that used SQLite was that we where hit with SQLite only allowing one write transaction at a time. That is madness for any web app really.

Why do everyone seem so hyped on this when it can't really work properly IRL? If you have large amounts of data that need to be stored the app would die instantly, or leave all your users waiting for their changes to be saved.

Looks like a good start. I need VIM-mode to be able to use it as a daily driver.

The ordering of files and directories is a bit chaotic compared to VSCode. I get a "Go is not installed" popup every time I click a .go file which is weird since it's installed and available for the terminal opened in the editor. I would love more language support as well, Elixir would've been awesome.

Did a quick search and didn't see UpCloud mentioned. Having used AWS, GCP, Azure and DigitalOcean, one of the strong points of UpCloud (except for their pricing and product offerings) have been their customer interaction. Hands down the best experience I've ever had both from support and sales. I reached out to support 2:15AM in their live chat and got my issues resolved as we spoke. Good luck getting that with one of the big companies.

I hear you (I was a vegetarian for over 12 years), but I don't think there's a simple solution to the problem. The reality is that most of the new "good" companies are just as bad as the old ones they're replacing.

This doesn't really fly unfortunately. Eat vegan/vegetarian and you will have a minimal impact, that is what you see/hear everywhere. But in the meanwhile these new vegan/vegetarian companies are a huge cause of the deforestation of the Amazon [1]. The amount of vegan/vegetarian food necessary to actually get the same amount of nutrients are on a different planet and simple math shows that it wouldn't even work if we used the entire planet. What I'm getting at is that is that it isn't all black and white and what we need is something sustainable that works and that it isn't really an easily solved problem.

I don't understand how that little line could be so misinterpreted so wrong. I'm not ashamed of being white, I'm ashamed of asshats running around gunning for cheap SJW points while ignoring the real issues. We can do better. Master/slave, blacklist/whitelist etc has no relation to race at all so it's a completely pointless act. But instead this is taking center stage just so people can post "feelgood" LinkedIn/Twitter posts to make them feel better about themselves, or company PR blog posts like GitHub and GitLab while doing nothing to change the actual status quo.

As a white dude, I feel really ashamed for this even though I'm not involved in this at all. Sorry man, you deserve a better world.

GitLab made the change[1] as well unfortunately. I completely agree with everything written in the post as well. The problem with attacking words for cheap points is that it doesn't make a difference to the actual problem and is mainly used to show "aware" and "great" people are.

I searched but couldn't see that anyone had suggested Revery[1] by Outrun Labs. Fast, native, cross-platform UI.

They are using it to build Onivim 2[2] so they are _very_ committed to making improvements.

Nope, unfortunately not. Really liked their API so it's sad I had to jump ship.

I've had the exact opposite experience.

I don't know how many 200 OK I've received but the message was never delivered (and soooo many times during vital demos). I had several support cases with them and they simply ignored me. My product is built around SMS so I could have been easy money for them if it actually worked reliably.

I ditched them for Twilio, never had any issues since then. A couple of months later someone from sales at MessageBird reached out to me on LinkedIn and asked if I wanted to try their service. Spilled my guts to him and he wasn't surprised...

How certain are you that your messages are delivered? When I started digging, it was scary how often it failed successfully.

That's one version. Another one could be, you're having a great career at a company, suddenly your profile goes public and shows that you are looking for a job outside the company. Someone in your current company notices and now your career will screech to a halt even though you where never really that serious about it. There are so many bad versions on of how this could unfold...

For me personally it was Messagebird. Two failed demos because of this and the response from them where non-existent. I was even contacted by one of their sales people after I wrote my last "angry I'm leaving" email asking me if I was interested in using their services.

Super interested in this as well. I switched from Messagebird to Twilio after giving Nexmo a try and it's a lot better now but still get false positives.

Sorry I've tried to give Brave a shot for a couple of months and the 3-6x faster browsing is nonsense. It's really slow compared to Chrome or Firefox. Just do a quick comparison yourself, you can probably count seconds on a couple of sites you visit regularly whereas Chrome loads instantly.
