No way you throw away Blackwell GPUs after just 3 years. Google runs 8 year old TPUs still at 100% utilization. Why would you depreciate them in just 3 years?
Consolidations like this were bound to happen. In the mid 2010s we had a good thing, only one streaming platform with pretty much every movie and tv show. Then every studio got greedy and spawned their own platform, forcing netflix to produce their own shows.
Now you have 20 tv networks all with their own subscription and all losing money.
But practically speaking, is Meta going to be generating text or video content itself? Are they going to offer some kind of creator tools so you can use it to create video as a user and they need the compute for that? Do they even have a video generation model?

The practice as well as the percentage is industry standard by now but i have never heard of anyone complaining about the Meta tax or the Sony tax. It’s always the Apple tax which is a bit weird.
Let me break it to you, Play store also has a 30% tax. So does Steam, Playstation store, Xbox store, Meta quest store, Nintendo, Samsung etc. Why do people only complain about Apple and everybody else gets a pass?

This is totally False, NVDA has not done any stock offerings. The money is coming from the ungodly amount of GPUs they are selling. In fact they are doing the opposite, they are buying back their stock because they have more money that they know what to do with.
I use it as a plex server and it can handle anything you throw at it. Previously plex was running on the synology NAS itself and it would choke with a couple concurrent transcodes
