I understand, from a project management perspective, the need for a concerted, coordinated push to penalize widespread discrimination against a particular category of people. But I do not understand, from a legal perspective, why some groups are protected from discrimination while others are not.

Employees are forced to accept a bad deal due to asymmetrical market dynamics. Without the job they would be worse off until they find a replacement. The person with the money (Bezos) has all the power.

Not so with church members. If they stopped attending they would have more money. They are the ones with the power. So why would a grown adult willfully hand over their money to an organization that already has all the money it could possibly need?

A better counterpoint would be - Why do people keep paying $60 worth of streaming video subscriptions per month when the content delivered is increasingly just lame irrelevant re-hashed bullshit?

Except that half the code was made-up. One of the API calls that it was using doesn't exist (I wish it did!)

I've also been using ChatGPT to generate code for a specific library, and had the exact same experience. It uses an API that should exist, but not the one that does exist.

I grew up in an environment that contained a multitude of new-age and religious ideologies. I came to believe there are fewer things in this world stupider than metaphysics and religion. I don't think there is anything that could be said to change my mind.

As such, I would absolutely love for a super-human intelligence to try to convince me otherwise. That could be fun.
