If a waiter/waitress does a good job they will be more likely to get a better tip. If a waiter/waitress does a bad job they will get smaller / no tip.
Now, they will not necessarily get a bigger tip or even necessarily get a tip if they do a wonderful job, but it does make some people.
That is a lie though. If I pick up a rock and somebody else does as well and we both use our hands to break off pieces of the rock (private means of production) and trade parts of the broken rocks with each no coercion occurred.
That is technically a capitalist society without coercion.

I would say it would be difficult to get the same quality as you had in 1970 as health regulations have increased so it would be rather difficult to get an estimate if you could actually get the 1970 cost.

Socialism and capitalism can be occurring at the same time in the same city. If one company was worker controlled and one company was hierarchically controlled then it would be fine. As long as nobody is forcing somebody into a different system both could work together.

In the US, the costs really depend on the state. Some states take years upon years and allow many appeals. They also provide lawyers (if you can't afford it). Not to mention keeping the prisoner in death row is more expensive than regular.

I am an American. I knew they had ridiculous laws like this in the UK. I recall hearing about some lady who said something racist on a subway and got arrested. Pretty ridiculous in my opinion.
The fact that the NSA scandal has become...well such a scandal is that those principals existed to be violated in the first place.
It still would have been pretty big news. The director of national intelligence lied to congress. People likely would have just brushed that under the table (like they are doing now) though.

I would like to see companies prevent sharing, if they want to, without using the government to charge people fines. This seems like a step in that direction, however, changing words won't really cause anybody to stop.
