As far as I can see, they surely are. The front page country-specific bookmarks in the Edge browser are with affiliate links, such as Booking.com, eBay, etc., and then after a few local suggestions.

Was surprised to see how bad the UX was when trying Edge on the Mac. They claim to be super privacy-focused, yet anyways I need to accept a cookie banner with many data partners to get access to the settings button.

Airplane mode is the safest option for when our 3yo kiddo play games on the iPad. Unless the app is paid for, it most likely will be full of sketchy ways to make the kids press on ads.

Depending on where you are from there might a better alternative.

In Europe, you have Revolut, N26 and Monzo which gives you a prepaid or debit MasterCard. Instead of the higher foreign transaction bank fees you will get either Mastercard’s or interbank rates, which is so much better than your traditional bank exchange rate.

But I got some problems with the encoding, which didn't accept non-latin characters. Maybe encode it with UTF8/Unicode before sending it to the user.

Works great in Asia, Thailand - No problems so far.
