Mintlayer is an open source layer 2 solution to bring new functionalities to the Bitcoin network. It is written from scratch in rust. RBB LAB, the company that is launching Mintlayer, is hiring rust developers to expand the team. The team is distributed all over the world with the higher density in Europe.

Among the benefit there's a residency program for San Marino (a small country in the middle of Italy).

When it comes to Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies HN community seems to become the church of central bankers, where the same old (debunked millions of times) BSs are repeated over and over as a mantra.

You may not agree with a sound money economy, and you may like the idea of a central bank that manipulate the market to encourage spending and discourage savings.

But thankfully nobody is forcing you to use Bitcoin, and that's alone one of the main interesting point of it, it's completely and absolutely an open and voluntary economy.

Cause fee replacing subsidy is the only way to ensure you can maintain the security without inflating the supply. Increasing the blocksize is not an opion. The solution is Lighting Network that allow cheap instant micropaymemts and leave large txs onchain where a tx is more expensive. LN is where most of the innovation is happening right now.

I'm vegetarian but I've spent a couple years as vegan when I was in my 20.

One day (I was 18, now I'm 40) I've decided to start choosing the vegetarian option whenever its available, after few days I realized that I was already vegetarian.

Being vegan is a completely different thing though, it require time, planning, knowledge and partecipation by the people around you. It can easily become a problem for everybody (not just you) and if you want your decision to be sustainable you don't want it. So my suggestion is to be smart, don't overdo, eventually start choosing the vegan option whenever is available or you have control on the meal preparation.

its quite obvious that it shouldn't be used for production.. but might be still useful.. I personally have one that I use as minecraft server (if its down who cares?) and for pair programming with tmux/vim .. still if its down I don't care.
