Since the early days of lockdown, my apartment complex in Bangalore has been strict about masks among the elderly but not among children. I would see children playing without masks and probably this could be a reason why children end up spreading the virus easily.

What were your symptoms like? I’ve read only that mild is not exactly mild by flu standards yet I know another friend who had it but was having a bad throat ache for 3 days and fever. Took her 10 days to recover.

Elaborating on my question.

In your read me it says - "In the computer that you will perform the training -- protip: don't train the model in the Raspberry Pi! -- install all the requirements by runnig:"

Could you give some specs on the computer? I currently don't own a GPU based PC so was wondering if I need to get one or use cloud based GPU instance.

Well said.

Often people forget the mental stress modern work places on us. I remember my Dad working hours but he was tired from physical exhaustion and not mental. He didn't have email or messaging that would distract him from a weekend of relaxation.

I was addicted to checking my email every once in a while and found my mind switching to thinking about work instead of enjoying the moment. Thankfully I broke that habit.

Today, I try and impress this upon other people who do this.

I quit Facebook a few months back and I've tried to coax my BH into quitting and she would have if not for one reason.

Our son's school shares all updates on their Facebook page which is only accessible by members. Ironically Facebook should not be the place to share such information & content given the recent happenings.

I wish schools could find another solution or platform.

I was in a similar situation a few years back but my weakness was calculus. I really had no grasp of what it was used for until I had to learn as part of my work. I was on the brink of losing my job if I hadn't. I had a very patient boss as mentor who spent hours teaching me the practical applications of it - remotely over phone. Now I love calculus.

So I believe the best way to learn math is by finding areas where you are forced to apply it. And it is never too late. I learnt most of it after turning 30.

Do miss the 90's internet. I remember having no interest in programming yet be able to conjure up a quick fan webpage on angelfire using nothing but simple html and Microsoft Frontpage. It became such a satisfying experience that I ended up creating a few more and even one dedicated to my girlfriend!

A few years ago in my previous company there was a major push to convert a lot of the codebase to Python. A byproduct of this conversion was an easier way to build UI using predefined widgets. Yet no one was using this functionality due to the mindset of years of TCL. I honestly hated TCL. So I took it upon myself to explore the entire new code base and go about building UI panels. Initially I just couldn't understand how the code mapped out until one day I just printed out some of the code and read it repeatedly till it made sense. The whole exercise was an eye opener.

Having grown up in a large single family home that was built in the 60's, I've enjoyed great freedom thanks to the privacy in the large garden surrounding our house. After marriage I moved cities and live in a small duplex with a really tiny private garden and a common community space. I must say I do not miss the space of the large independent house. The need of the hour today is functional living for everyone.
