You have things like rocksdb, SQLite etc that are simple have serialization-deserialization built-in, so no external app dependencies

The 2$ adds up + thats an ephemeral environment and these things are super finiky to get working properly (dependency and initial setup + adding tools to your workflow). Plus there is a more of a craft like - ad-hoc approach to how you want to do things, plus a learning curve, with what tools and scripts you want to do or write simple stuff on your own -- runpod sounds good on paper but after a while, you then want AWS/Google VM so things are stable and your environment is sane and stable. Then if you calculate, you'll come up to a cost of buying a nice card in 6-10 monthly payments.. So if you want to play with it in peace you spend once and only worry about electricity costs :D
No can't do it realtime. Each image would be about 20-60 seconds (depends on what you're doing with it)
A frame is like 20-30 seconds for one pass on my 3090, you may have multiple tools and multiple passes.. say 60 seconds a frame x 300 frames about 5 hours -- 3090 costs 0.44$ per hour on runpod.. a little more than 2$
Or they could just use the models we are using right now and get the same effect, not like the models are going away anywhere
You apparently can't use anything to do with automatic-111 webui from colab, don't remember the exact restriction but I hear even if you do a simple, print with the word it freaks out..

Finding content is harder too, go through a Google search and 5-6 tabs before you reach an answer, ChatGPT is my first go-to tool for solving common stuff and stuff like syntax reference.

Surprised you didn't pick ScyllaDB over cassandra.. ScyllaDB has excellent out of the box support for Golang Change Data Capture and can handle much more load given the same hardware as Cassandra. It has nice integration with stuff like Confluent as well. Given ScyllaDB is mostly drop-in replacment I guess it would be quite straight-forward to swap it out if someone wanted, I guess

I don't even care about it. I just write natural language. I don't have time or the motivation to keep up with esoteric incantations and that too with a limited shelf life, that may be version or release specific.
I do think there is some value in putting the AI in the correct context role if you're using the API for some app.
It's not about fun. Nuance is the key differentiator. Conscientiousness is (correctly, imo) valued because correctness matters (a lot).

We as humans have had this argument with automated manufacturing, its a good reference point to predict human behavior.
Second is art itself. We have high quality art prints that a large portion of people are happy to buy. Artists themselves are happy to sell prints of their own work. That product is entirely machine made except for the initial knowledge work by the artist. I'm not making a art, not art argument. I'm saying, people are happy to consume manufactured content, companies are happy to generate it for them.
The argument that 'humans will stop producing and things will stagnate' is totally non-serious and doesn't even deserve a retort really..
For one side it's an existential question, the other side its just a rounding error..
There is no explicit loss of value for Google, they save money + get more chrome users..
