Original author isn't involved with this fork AFAIK, but fixes from SoX are backported which is why the author may appear in the commit history.

Opus is also now supported in WebM, but you still can't just decode Ogg Opus

Apparently Ogg Opus and Ogg Vorbis has been supported since 18.4 (Mar 2025)[1]

I think it would be great to see more adoption of Opus in podcasting personally.

Google would retain copyright to all of it's employees contributions to Chromium. Which I recall being 90%+ of contributions. The propsal PDF from justice.gov doesn't mention Chromium anywhere, so maybe Google will retain copyrights, but the sale would seem pointless if they do.

The real question is to what level Google continue investment in Chrome after the sale. Remember both Mozilla and Apple will also loose out on the search engine deal.

It was a journey for sure. I never contributed code, but color schemes and emojis. But I always enjoy Andreas' Serenity videos, even some coding videos were good (I cannot code). These are special and will forever live in my heart.

Would it be fair to assume this means the SerenityOS maintainers will have to pull LibWeb/LibJS changes in from Ladybird?

I hope it was a pleasant surprise, I found this from a data archivist perspective. I can't believe that only FLAC had the foresight to checksum large binary data in the media codec space.

I notice that LLM releases will include md5/sha256 for the binary data, while excluding the json metadata. I really wanted MKV to have this functionality.

My perspective. Checksumming is more useful on large binary data, whereas tools to check metadata/container corruption already exist[1].

This allows you to change metadata or the container entirely, while still being able to check if e.g. the H.264 video stream is okay.

As someone who just installed OpenZFS on Linux, I agree with you totally.

ZFS just is, no need to worry about layering device mappers and LVM. The automount is also very nice.

I don't hate the UI choice made in Dune 3D. But I still think the menu bar approach is the best for complex applications.

I don't like the GTK crowd's approach in regards trying to make everything work within the GNOME design paradigm. It doesn't look good on all platforms, and feels more hamfisted then anything else.

Sad to see some in the comments criticise GIMP so hard, I get it doesn't compete with professional proprietary software. But it's still a very useful image editing tool, that I use a lot.
