Currently I am a tech lead/architect in the world's largest consulting companies' Emerging Technology Innovation practice, which is responsible for conceiving, prototyping, and building next-generation products. My topics mostly include modern web technologies, UX and free & open source software.

Prior, I co-founded, built and scaled up the world's leading fashion designer platform, where I ran the technical side of the company as CTO and lead a small team.

I am looking for a senior position in a product based company in which I can make a meaningful impact. My long term goal is along the lines of great minds such as Doug Engelbart, Alan Kay and Bret Victor. That is to augment human intellect by thinking how we can conceive the computer as a new medium for everybody.

I am a software engineer interested in the future of computing and the interaction of humans with computer interfaces. I try to make the products I design and build as simple and intuitive to use as possible while still having a unique aesthetic appeal. I love Free and Open Source software.

As CTO, I co-founded, built and scaled up the world's leading fashion designer platform in 2007. In 2013 I felt it was time for something new and joined the world's largest consulting company as an expert and tech lead for open web technologies, HTML5 and Free and Open Source software in their emerging technology team.

I am looking for a position in which I can make a meaningful impact and hopefully move humanity forward by solving a real problem.

Munich, Germany. Local, Remote, Relocation. Full Time.

well, 12 is the absolute maximum, i personally prefer a number close to 10. something which has worked quite well so far is a short introduction of yourself and the idea behind the dinner when everybody has arrived. then hand out some notes with the three rules on it. lead by example ;)

if you're low on cash, do pizza and beer at a brewery or the like. the gesture will be appreciated virtually no matter the venue.

But that's exactly what we are doing. What do you think iPhones and iPads are? Those startups that are making it easier to book holidays? The very thing they are doing is making technology available to everyone.

so, yes, they make technology available to everyone. but in my opinion the problem is something else: we still think in representations invented for the medium of paper. we still code in text files, we still read pdfs/ebooks page by page, and your mom still can't send you that thing over the internet. with all these beautiful devices we have, it kinda makes me sad to see what potential we are missing out.

you may have heard of this beautiful research project "sketchpad" by ivan sutherland (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sketchpad), which plays with direct manipulation of data. they even managed to plan a bridge with it. not that i am saying everyone should be able to build bridges, but you see where this is going.

i very much recommend to watch both talks by bret victor: the future of programming - http://worrydream.com/dbx/ media for thinking the unthinkable - http://worrydream.com/MediaForThinkingTheUnthinkable/

There seems to be the idea that it's possible to leapfrog all of this hard, technical stuff and let everyone do it

no, of course not. we always build on the shoulder of giants. but i hope you agree that we can do better than what we are currently doing. ryan, thanks for your comment.
