it doesn't seem to mention anything on using the LSP for linting/typechecking? That's what I really want, instead of my unholy combo of post edit hooks and claude.md "PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE run type checking and linting before you think everything is done..."

Yeah, I think you can. You can also change the keyboard shortcut for completion. One of the great "little things" that JetBrains does is the first time it offers AI multiline code completion, it asks you what keyboard shortcut you want to use. Unlike the CoPilot plugin which just hijacks `tab`

Yeah, I saw that too - seems to confirm my laments. JetBrains, besides WSL and lack of Day 1 support for modern tooling, is just so nice around the edges compared to VS Code. I hope they can get their act together

I've noticed I don't trust open source projects in the .NET space like I once did. Too many go away (i.e. NHibernate). Does anyone have any feedback on this article? Is in .NET only?

EDIT: Are there are other think pieces on the state of open source more broadly?

Maybe AI will just take over all the open source projects...

Are there any non-garbage CICD toolkits? I've been looking at JetBrains Space Automation which uses a Kotlin DSL - is that any better?

This looks great - thank you for sharing. Now, if this (getting rapidly older) software engineer just knew how to find a mid-(late?)-career job change where the interview consisted of geeking out about these books instead of if I know how to reverse a queue with the least amount of memory...

Prof Erickson once told me I look like Richard Feynman - 20 years later, it looks like that may be the peak achievement of my software engineering career.
