Interesting. We have a ton of work put into Selenium already so switching costs would be rather high for our team. But probably worth keeping an eye on this project.
You're going to have some big obstacles to overcome trying to get people to pay for this versus using Selenium.

I'm not 100% sure of the fine details of the CAN-SPAM act but this sounds like a highly questionably way to build an email distribution list.

I work for a SAAS that started in the UK. They used to bill in £'s, then in €'s and finally in $'s. Found that changing to $'s only significantly increased conversions.
Also, interesting - got another large uptick when we started accepting Amex - we're B2B and many US folks have company cards.
I think it takes some guts to admit publicly the self doubt that every founder probably struggles with at one point or another. So many people out there are documenting their successes and triumphs or maybe doing post postmortems on their mistakes. It's a refreshingly different and honest perspective.
At our company the CEO just takes orders and goes and gets food. If he's out or busy he leaves a prepaid visa and someone else goes. No fancy china but it works. Sometimes we'll order in using foodler.com which lets you do group ordering.
We do this at my company and it's awesome. The idea is it's not at all mandatory. Do whatever you want for lunch. But everyday, at noon, there will be a free lunch served at this location. Most people will participate in that 4 out of 5 days. If they have a deadline, want to meet a friend for lunch, need to run some errands or whatever it's fine. Most often the conversation is about everything but business.
It makes us closer as a team and some of our best ideas come out over lunch when we're not trying to brainstorm or think about business issues.
I've often had this thought. I am not a morning person at all. But if I could just sleep 1 hour less M-F I'd have a lot more time on my hands. 5 AM might be extreme but what if you just made it 6:30 instead of 7:30 or whatever. You'd probably feel pretty equally rested and have a better start to every day.

I think one of the issues is sales/customer generation. Most hackers are good at that - hacking. Not at selling themselves, their services or generating leads and customers.

this is the one place you might have a shot - if google, amazon, facebook, etc - were just like you straight can't use IE or our sites - then maybe, but no chance the big dogs do something like that
So far the most votes are for "IE can and should be killed". Should is debatable, sure. But I'm interested in how. Because I'd argue it can't be done by anyone not named Steve Balmer at the moment.

My company used GoGrid prior to me getting here. The anecdotal reviews were very very bad. That being said I've never used them and it was 18 months + ago so maybe they are better now.
We use EC2 almost exclusively but do run some instances on Terremark (http://www.terremark.com/services/cloudcomputing.aspx) just because we had some issues a while back where EC2 wasn't letting us create new instances for like a week and we wanted to have some insurance.
