Just got mine in the mail a few weeks ago but only after ordering it last year. I don’t really game anymore so it just collects dust. It is beautiful though.

This is what I was also expecting. The complexity in engineering a road tire is what first comes to mind.

I find the conversation around diet extremely myopic. If the goal is to lead a long and healthy life, the minutiae around exactly when to eat or what to eat (Mediterranean diet) is so unimportant and detracts from so many other important tenets. Those being proper sleep, stress management, and exercise (cardio && strength).

That being said, if a conversation around fasting is what gets people in the door, perhaps it’s not the worst thing in the world.

Is this not the opposite of a bubble? It seems like public opinion and public policy are actually making significant shifts into making psychedelic treatments more mainstream. From which I expect a large industry to emerge.

First and foremost, take a deep breath. I'm in a very similar position that you are (23 y/o, interest in CS, for-longing the time spent on fruitless efforts) which I hope brings you some relief. What I've learned is that aspiring to focus every moment to a point is a fools errand. Time will escape you in which case, congratulations you've just had fun! I've also learned that dwelling on actions past almost never results in better future action. Ask yourself if what you do now is of benefit to future goals and move from there. There are no refunds.

But that time was spent making you there person you are today. The skills, perspective, and ambitions that grew from what you "wasted so much of my life on" makes you whole. Learn to accept that because there is no goal oriented outcome that will relieve you. Today you lament leisure and not study, tomorrow you reverse.

Makes me feel better about my own incompetencies. But also makes me scared for the future of safety in vehicles.

I love LineageOS and have used microG services for so long but forks like this strike me as sad as needing to assimilate to the look and feel of iOS. It comes off as cheap and unoriginal. Now this is harsh criticism I understand but I do appreciate how much effort it must have taken to make all of these app forks. I only wish the effort was spent building something more interesting.

As a few other commenters pointed out, the perspective of many on the idea of leisure time is that it will lead to one’s destruction. This is an incredibly damaging and blind perspective on the struggles of the working class. There is no leisure time when you work a poor paying physically and emotionally demanding job and spend the other hours of the day preparing for said job (house work, eating, commuting). Work will set you free but wage slavery binds you. There is also a learned helplessness that comes with this soul crushing routine that turns you against your fellow worker and pushes them to comply with a system that only breaks you. For some, this learned helplessness is the only way to cope with the reality that your life is to serve the same 5 oligarchs that rule.

I want to believe that Web3 can do something more for us but when I hear people evangelize it all the time, scam alarms start ringing. Andreessen speaks too quickly, only in the abstract, and changes points before finishing them. It’s a clever marketing trick that gets the audience to fill in the gaps as it were and leaves no time to consider that nothing of value has actually been said.
