Well its a customizable single product offering. So the user would just have to order it again if they wanted more then one.

My question is how does this compare, to having everything that shopify gives you? stock management, order management, etc etc

Yeah, i mainly deal with react/next + supabase on a daily basis at work.

And do sometimes think of small apps i could build for fun, but the thought of doing react, again, is tiring in and of itself lol plus the whole setup around getting express running and picking packages.

Rails is ready out of the box, for me to not have to screw around with.

Just love the ruby syntax(along with python, which i am actively learning now with datacamp). Its cleaner, and i can probably do 90% of what i do in react there. Then for the rest throw solid js or svelte, or even just react for specific components.

I've always been interested in rails, even though my career has gone the JS/TS route. Think i might finally take the plunge and try to build some random stuff with it. See how far i can get by looking at code examples and asking gpt "how do you do x in rails" etc.

Really love that it seems to just be a complete toolbox, especially for a solo project.

Also seeing more and more rails roles out there, but obviously don't have 5+ years with the framework

Gmaps already does that whenever a city decides to do road work, and mess with which lanes take you where.

Lmao, not as bad as the silicon valley episode where Jared gets stuck in a robotaxi, taken to a container, and then ending up on an island.

I would recommend the Assimil language courses, very good if you consistently do it every day, they're also not too expensive. Like 75 bucks last i checked, and that'll keep you busy for 90+ days.

Assimil says it can get you to a b1/b2-ish level, which i think is about where it takes you. I did their German course a long time ago, and was able to read paragraphs and understand them just fine by the end of it(didn't keep up with German, so that skill has atrophied.

After finishing Assimil, i would watch a tv show you've already watched but now in french. Ie: go to Netflix or Prime(which in my experience have the most language options) and watch Friends, 24, The Blacklist, Seinfeld etc etc whatever you can think of, in French, it'll help a lot, and make acquiring vocab easier. Native language content can sometimes be a bit harder to grasp because of cultural events/history you may not be familiar with yet.

But French language content I have enjoyed in the past are the podcasts "Podcast Marketing Digital"(also a youtube channel), deux mille ans d'histoire(history podcast)

If you are extremely disciplined when it comes to your custom css, sure its better.

But like any framework or library, tailwind lets other people jump in quickly and be productive because its a standard. Though i may be biased because i love using tailwind
