A lot of GNU Radio is actually written in C++. Looking at some examples, it seems you don't need Python to create the flow graph either, that can be done in C++.

I'm confused, there seems to be open base station implementations such as OpenBTS, why is there no SDR based cellphone already I wonder?, as that'd be really neat in my opinion.

I saw their product on Dragons' Den yesterday.

I found it rather surprising as I've bought similar bluetooth key fobs, from Aliexpress for around $1.40 each and they mentioned they where planning on selling them for around £20.

I'm currently working on trying to crack an electronic safe lock based on the awesome DEFCON talk by Plore ( https://media.defcon.org/DEF%20CON%2024/DEF%20CON%2024%20pre... )

I don't think the photos are exactly up-to-date, but I currently have an STM32F429 DISCO dev board, configured with a ladder DAC, so I can generate the analog keypresses for the safelock via my laptop, the board also sets a pin high to force my oscilloscope to trigger and capture the voltage from my ucurrent, which is hooked up to the battery of the safe-lock.

I'm also trying to get some iron nanoparticles, if I can find them cheap enough, in order to try to optically image a floppy disk.

I've got some images from one in the link below, but that was using a magnetic developer, with much larger particles.

Yeah I agree it's a really cool hack! I wonder if they could have even used multiple chips to increase the resolution, assuming they could re-package the silicon to minimise gaps between them.

One of the books I really love is "Hackers: Heroes of the Computer Revolution" by Steven Levy. Which shows the inventiveness of those guys!

With respect to AI, that sounds really interesting, I'd not thought a lone researcher could create something so complex, but that would be really awesome. One of the projects I find really fascinating is OpenWorm, if I recall correctly they have a bunch of videos, where the neurons of the C. Elegans worm have been recorded optically and they're creating their model from those.
