Just in time for April Fools

I've worked in a company that wrote Java code that needed to avoid false cacheing. It was fairly understandable and the tooling made it quite testable for performance regressions.

However, the issue in the Netflix blogpost is in the JVM C++ code. I think it's entirely possible to encounter the problem in any language if you're writing performance-critical code.

Most other vegans I know seem to be very aware of the nutrition issues, and take EPA/DHA supplements and extra vitamins. "Nootch" - nutritional yeast - is also a very common ingredient used to boost vitamins and minerals.

It's of course hard to be 100% sure what's safe, but then eating meat also has it's risks - heart disease, cancer, e. coli. etc - as well as environmental costs.

Going vegan is quite a big step, and most people would benefit from eating a lot less meat.

However please don't compare the modern industrial meat production with anything like farming from, say, 500 years ago, or with ancient hunting. Modern meat production is brutal (for necessary cost reasons) and hugely destructive to the environment.

People aren't that stupid and the arguments against using the word milk annoy me. I think it's a sign that people are changing their diet and the dairy industry is worried.

Hmm. The 6502 is/was often set up to access the memory only half the time. For example a 1MHz CPU would be interfaced with 2MHz memory, and access every other cycle.

You might have a point about war and in general consumption being a 'wired-in' behaviour. Then again assuming we have something like intelligence and free will, we should be able to choose to override some primitive behaviour.
