I still use both emacs and jed.

jed starts very fast and has much lower memory usage, so it is well suited for quick edits of configuration files and scripts and other workflows, where you start your editor in your shell, instead of the other way around.

emacs (through packages) can be turned into a custom IDE for a lot of languages, but takes more disk space and uses more RAM.

Jed's editor is customizable and programmable, through SLANG scripts.

I am Bulgarian, living in Bulgaria, a small country in Eastern Europe. My native language is Bulgarian. I also know English, Russian, and a little bit of French and Turkish.

I do not want to write, or read source code written in Bulgarian, or Russian or French, or Kiswahili, or Japanese etc. I want to use one single language for that. It currently happens to be English for historical reasons.

Supporting unicode in source code, will lead to language fragmentation, and will limit my ability to participate, and to understand everything already build by others.

What you describe is exactly what the V compiler does.

It produces warnings for unused variables, and warnings become errors, when you want to compile a production executable with -prod , so you can get both the benefit of prototyping without losing your flow, and you are still required to cleanup after that, when you are finished, before release.
