But, does it webscale?

Some of the most popular news media services in my country took this for granted. On a second thought, that was expected after citing "The Onion" as a relevant news source.
I consider coding to be something in between art and industry. Creativity and production.
For those developing on Debian based Linux, these are the steps:
1. Install python-opencv package with apt-get/aptitude
2. You can get the Haar cascades here - http://alereimondo.no-ip.org/OpenCV/34
3. Run the same code, just make sure to use one of the cascades downloaded from step 2
Line 60: parser.add_option("-c", "--cascade", action="store", dest="cascade", type="str", help="Haar cascade file, default %default", default = "/usr/local/Cellar/opencv/2.2/share/opencv/haarcascades/haarcascade_frontalface_default.xml") Change default to the haar cascade file path, or use --cascade option to specify it.
4. Execute
Edit: For non-Deb based distros, use your package manager to download/install opencv for python (or compile it) and continue from step 2.
"Lorem Ipsum"?
This statement can be true if 60% of the PC's were low end configurations and(or?) 60% of the Windows desktops have high-speed, HA internet connection. Eastern Europe suffers from unstable, slow and expensive internet connections with high traffic restrictions. In my country, the most used internet package is limited to 20GB/mo traffic up/down and after you exceed it, you get 64/32kbps speed.
I pray every day for Linux to replace 60% of Windows desktops. And I am talking about OS thats far more mature, usable and functional. I don't think this will happen in near future, and I really don't think that ChromeOS will achieve that.
Linux Mint LXDE is very lightweight without sacrificing functionality and looks. I use it on my netbook for several months now, and it works great. Battery life improved 40% since I switched to it, everything works out of the box.
960gs fluid can be altered to be 1140px wide. It just needs a max-width attribute on the container_12 class - http://goo.gl/2Jdla
*Edit: The gutters also scale with viewport size and the nested elements can be fluid too.
What if I turned off Javascript?
Even so, this would sell like butter. Can't you hear CEOs masturbating over this?
I wanted to start flaming oracle for hurting the IT all around, but somehow, I lost my words. My response to this would be a solid facepalm.
I don't think that someone would react different, all things considered. The critiques were firm and had ground. Django core is used to criticism (think of Cal Henderson's Keynote), and the community slowly became aggravated with the things we hate in django. It was coming.
I really liked the keynote, and i salute the man that had the courage to do this. Lets hope this keynote makes deep impression on django core and sticks for some time so we can see the community and the project become better and better.
Kudos Eric.
i don't think that the case. The first number is the year and the second is the month.
Usually i use shiki themes and elementary from time to time. They all have the same issue. I think that's metacity perk and not theme related. Recently I became switched to LXDE (try it on High Performance PC - Mind blown) and i don't have that problem as openbox has nice borders and handles.
I'm sticking with LTS too. Seems like new kernel+x.org have some problems with non-intel graphic cards. Now Ati works, NV doesn't. I tried the RC on my notebook, didn't notice any changes.
IMHO you can't integrate 960gs here. This generator generates quasi-absolute positioned elements. There is no ltr flow of the elements.
EDIT: There is a nice 960.gs layout generator available for some time now. http://960ls.atomidata.com/
Excellent comment and great point.
Email was, is and will be popular in days to come just because it's not realtime. We have many other forms of realtime communication (both verbal and written), and yet, email managed to survive throughout all these years.
One thing that bugged me tho. Why android? Symbian did that years before android. IPhone too. Even simple Nokia/SonyEricsson not-so-smart phones were able to do most of those listed tasks years before android. We realized that statement that 1-task gadgets/tools will sooner or latter die long time ago.
