How is the latency for you? I know blackhole is advertised as 0ms itself, but I always found that crossing virtual devices incurred the input/output latency of the daw itself.

I don't see a rule where joking is prohibited. People sure love their buzzwords though. Must bring them a feeling of synergy in these unprecedented times :)

Glad that at least a few people above got the joke

For example, employees of the FTX Group submitted payment requests through an on-line ‘chat’ platform where a disparate group of supervisors approved disbursements by responding with personalized emojis.

So... the payment system was a discord bot?

TikTok as-is presents a massive attack surface for (d|m)information and worse. And the version available in the US is highly addictive with numerous bubble creating feedback loops. The amount of engagement and time spent on the app is incredible.

The creators know this and provide an alternate version called Douyin used domestically which optimizes for educational content and has additional rules/safeguards

I don't want to harp on which country has which political motive, but it's pretty cut and dry to see that the service owners export something very different than what is presented domestically.

Maybe you’ll be the person to creat a store like that.

In my experience this stuff can be sourced on the cheap at tech flea markets, local classifieds and ebay, shopgoodwill, etc sites.

There are some stores that sell retro consoles along with comic books and stuff like that, although they tend to charge a premium

retro computers in a store I think is pretty rare, I haven't seen it personally

Whenever I ride downhill I’ll carve and powerslide to keep my speed within the range of how fast I can bail into a run essentially.

The few times I’ve spilled going faster than I could run have been ugly! Feet just couldn’t keep up and gone into a barely controlled roll.

I don’t know if I could ever feel comfortable consistently riding that fast

One time was caused by my dog chasing another dog while I was holding the leash standing on my board, that was hilariously painful

Since you cannot predict the future I recommend not waiting “for prices to drop”.

This is questionable advice, and biased I guess.

It's quite easy to review historical sale data and see if a person is buying at a peak price. No it likely won't be the only or final peak, but it's a useful indicator.

optimizing for price won’t make you happy.

On the other hand, not optimizing for price can make you significantly unhappy. Being immobilized due to an upside down mortgage, and stretching monthly finances can be really stressful.

If you are in the apple ecosystem an airport express or apple tv is the way to go. Instant multi room hifi, and super cheap.

You can even redirect your laptop/system audio into it with a click in the sound menu

There is a complicating factor of 3rd party software bugs and compatibility when run under the latest macos release. It usually takes 6-12 months before those have been fully ironed out

"richest man in the world" and "free speech advocate" are two ideologies in direct conflict with one another

substitute "richest" for "most powerful" and it gets worse

What worries me is this — Outrage creates “engagement”.

A site like Twitter could easily capitalize on this and allow/promote outrage content in the near term, boosting their profits and causing long term side effects to societies as a whole.

I would think one of the pilots would stand behind the plane and verify control surfaces via radio, but I guess that's too time consuming or error prone?

Works fine for cars though. Drive through lube shops and states with safety inspections will perform indicator checks this way. If you push the left blinker and the right light starts flashing you've got a problem...

Hopefully by now the cockpit has access to external cameras to visualize what's happening behind them in real time
