Very much this. I see users getting locked out of Google account often, or Google changing their policies (like the recent change of free G Suite accounts to premium ones) which would mean you'd be locked out of most accounts.

I am not aware of any truncation, but best to ask their support and/or ask on their community forums.

This service is not ideal for spammers because it is not possible to initiate sending of emails using Duck at the moment. It's only for receiving and responding to incoming emails.

I think the parent company misunderstood the process as being required to move to a new Google account. That's not the case as far as I can tell from the support document. The account remains the same, just have to pay for the service.

Hopefully so, but I'd be willing to pay even upto 100 USD. I store a lot of things on 1Password these days that it's very hard to give up, and very convenient. It's not just passwords; medical documents, credit card details, passport, certificates, private notes.

I like Bitwarden too, but can't dismiss the fact that 1Password is superior to Bitwarden in many ways:

- Mobile UI is beautiful on 1Password.

- The UX from creating a password entry to auto-filling is easily better on 1Password. Bitwarden doesn't show autofill entries on login forms yet. That's a deal breaker, at least for me.

- Account recovery via a trusted family member.

- Additional security measure: private key in addition to master password.

Personally, the 35 USD fee is justified.

At this time, I have a local copy split across a Windows and a Mac. Both are backed up to Backblaze Personal plan. When someone from my immediate family wants to view an album, they have to download it. Not ideal at all, but that's our process today.

I don't use Google Photos for privacy concerns.

I saw the same error earlier today, but trying to log into LastPass.com now shows this error: "You may have mistyped your email address. Try again."

At this stage, it's unclear if my account is already deleted, or if my account is flagged for something else. If it's deleted, it would have been ideal to send an email confirmation about it, but that hasn't happened so far.

Ran into the same setting yesterday when I was looking for something else. Sorta annoying; it must be opt-in, not opt-out by default.

When transferring-out domains from Namecheap to Porkbun, I was horrified to learn that the email address used for domain registrations wasn't what I expected.

Somehow the registrant email address was set to their whois proxy address, which meant I could not receive my transfer-out EPP code.

I had to contact their support who reset it back to what I had set during purchase and I could receive the EPP code.

Big +1 for Porkbun. I feel a bit bad because I use them only for domain registrations, and then point out to Bunny DNS or Cloudflare DNS. I don't host websites or email with Porkbun either, mostly because moving existing setup from elsewhere is a pain.

Well, that's not good. It's frustrating that there isn't a customer support division that you can talk to either, at least for escalated issues like the ones we face.

You could avoid using SMS for 2FA. Most websites offer TOTP as first choice for 2FA. For the ones that insist on SMS 2FA being first choice, I don't bother using anymore. I delete the account and find another provider.
