Meaning whenever the hell they feel like it. From the outside looking in, one problem seems to be a lack of a legitimate legal framework. Is there truly law in China? In the US at least, companies can throw out illegitimate requests for information. Can you tell the Chinese government, "no" for any reason? Citizens in western Democracies regularly sue their own government and win.

A lot of things are taxed multiple times. I pay income tax, then use that taxed income to purchase a vehicle which carries a sales tax, and for awhile I even paid a tax on the value of that car annually. Same money being taxed multiple times. All recurring property tax can be viewed this way.

Inheritance or gifts should absolutely be taxed as income to the person receiving.

Kanban seems pretty similar to a method I used in college to track tasks, not even software tasks. This leads me to believe that it is intuitive since it more or less naturally made sense to me before ever knowing Kanban was a thing.

I have. Being a hero means some risk to yourself does it not? Ultimately if you piss off a government you're going to run the risk of things going poorly for yourself.

All I know is the last place he should have went was to a foreign country. Official channels -> congress -> media, and this is at great risk but this is what Ellsberg did.

With all this said- whistle-blower protections ought to become mandatory training for all DoD contractors, government employees, or anyone who handles classified information.

The new iPhone camera looks pretty sweet but the part that I'm starting to disagree with is what they call, "semantic rendering." This is where the camera recognizes different things in the photo and treats them different like sharpening some areas, smoothing others, etc.

To me this this aspect feels like basically an Instagram filter. Are we going for accuracy or how pleasing the photos are? They're definitely more pleasing but not an accurate representation.

There is a simple way around this- never connect these to your LAN. I don't need the features, I don't need the data collection, and I certainly do not need the extra security footprint.
