The third largest city is in the middle of nowhere?

To spell it out, if whatsapp were considered a threat they'd block it just like they block Signal.
That's as good a sign as any that you shouldn't be using Whatsapp.
I would assume that whoever wrote "crun" had fat-fingered "cron".
Do you think you're different than someone who would rather vote for the extreme right than vote for the moderate left?
If you are interested in doing software development for the government, please browse USAjobs.gov or the careers section of any government department/agency you are interested in. It's a pain in the ass to apply and the government will take months to respond to your applications, but if you're highly qualified you will get a call.
The reason why we don't focus on deplatforming sites like this is precisely because it's a concrete problem with a concrete solution. If instead you're a culture warrior fighting "fascism" or "the alt-right" you'll never run out of blue check marks to deplatform and your personal influence will never stop growing.
Now your acquaintances have one kid and you still can't see the stars.
How does a Tesla hold up after 300k miles? I'd bet money that a Toyota Corolla has more maintainability than a Tesla.
Sure but getting 1 million units of anti-malarial drugs properly distributed is an order of magnitude more important than the same quantity of covid vaccines. Just look up their death rates.
It's probably because before the United States existed, they were separate states. Then they became a confederacy (twice). There's also the open ended clause where Texas thinks they can secede if they want to.
Going from Idaho to New York is about the same shock as going from Idaho to Australia. The people who make this comparison are the ones who have actually been to many different American states instead of just reading about them on Reddit.
Covid is not nearly as high on the priority list for many third world countries as it is for the US. Here covid shuts down everything. In many African countries it is an order of magnitude less impactful than malaria.
What an idiotic statement.
You're assuming that people on r/wallstreetbets are exactly the same as people on wall street who literally only care about money. The redditors buying don't want to make money, they just want to kill the hedge fund. By wasting a few hundred dollars they are making a larger dent in wall street than congress has made for the last few decades.
Why are you scared? Just wear a mask :)
Would you rather earn $50k at a 20% profit margin or $50 billion at a 2% profit margin?
Really? In the middle of a pandemic where Covid-19 lives on surfaces for days, you can't see a reason not to use a ride-sharing car?
It won't need maintenance or a dealership network like traditional auto makers
Apple's UI is so clean that it actually reverses entropy.
College is not a javascript bootcamp.
Not allowing an insurance company to negotiate for the price of a drug or service is precisely why medicare and medicaid have ballooned up to 39% of US federal spending while not even approaching "universal" coverage.
Step one is understanding what the problem is. Most people in a relationship have been arguing about the same inane shit for years that they can't take a step back and look at the big-picture perspective of the problem in their relationship. They might see it as "My wife doesn't want to move to another city I got a fantastic job offer in" but the real problem might be something like "my wife values her social connections in this city" or "my wife doesn't want to interrupt her own career because that provides her a sense of security". Some of these underlying issues can be resolved or negotiated, some can't. If you're dealing with a meta-problem like "my husband is unwilling to compromise on anything" or "my wife has contempt for me", it's quite unlikely that you can fix that and impossible that you can just come to an agreement on that.
Not sure what parts specifically. There are FAANG software engineers making $200k entry level. Making the same salary in security requires far more work and skill than doing entry level software development for FAANG.
Where did all that iron that we mined run off to? Is it not on the surface anymore?
Don't go into security for the money. For the same effort you can make more money in some other part of the software industry. Only go into this industry if you're nuts about it because you will be competing with people who are nuts about it.
You keep saying MITM, which is an attack type, as if any kind of traffic inspection is bad. There is no third party in this sort of proxy: the company is communicating with the internet. The fact that a company proxy is inspecting traffic from a company computer does not make the company proxy a third party because both resources belong to the company and should be used for legitimate purposes. Is a reverse proxy doing a MITM attack on a web server if it offloads encryption and authentication for it? No, because both resources are owned by the same party.
TLS inspection and DLP are not euphemisms, they're valid names for a security practice. They're not even the same thing--you couldn't replace both mentions with "MITM" and expect another to know what you're talking about.
Downvoted because... TANSTAAFL?
I think I found the one Hacker News in this thread that actually works in security ops.
You seem to be implying that a company should not know what kind of web requests are coming from its computers.
And yes, I run a network too. No. I don't give a darn what my users do with it as long as the servers are up and fine, and the global riffraff stay out.
You don't care if your users get hacked? Would you mind telling me what company you work for?
