Unfortunately it cannot. But I think one of the biggest advantage of messaging apps is availability at any time. Customer can send you a message and its OK, if you will reply on 24 hours.

Go away from this "co-founder"!

1) If you are tech co-founder, then he has to be a marketing & sales co-founder. You no need second tech founder in most cases.

2) The roles of each founders in a startup have to be defined before you've started.

3) "He wants to outsource all development to India" - that's a VERY BAD idea.

Hi, these are a great question and a right conclusion. But become the good communicator is only a small thing that you have to change about themselves.

Here are just several points from my experience. 1) You have to get as much responsibility, as you can. 2) You have to became confident and tough. 3) And Yes, you have to became a better communicator.

Yeah, at the moment it's just a link to FB Messenger, but we are going to make a live chat on the site via Messenger later. The real problem we are solving is how to attract more customers to conversation via Messenger. Why Messenger? Because you'll be able to continue the dialog even if visitor leave your site.

Thanks alot for the full answer and many great ideas. I agree with an idea that not every new business is a start-up, but in our case we are SaaS startup in YC definition of that term ) After some intern discussions we decided to combine money making and growth as much as possible.

The real problem is not a couple of old-timers. I think the true issue is CEO. It looks like your CEO achieved his level of skills and he doesn't grow with a company. That guys are only result of this. So if you can't change a CEO, just leave this company.
