I’ve never had a limited card get rejected. Granted I use ones from privacy.com. That’s also what I have hooked up to my aws / amazon.

That’s why you always use a spend limited card with variable cost providers.

That’s what I’ve heard from my dev team too. They’re using it to give themselves free time while still being on the clock, not to produce more output for the company. Roughly thinking about hours spent on projects I think have gone up per task, the opposite that should be happening.

PP has worked amazingly well for me over the years, second to Amex. It's weird they wouldn't side with you, 3 months is well within their 180 day period.

Well, they're using Render which you'd think they'd be able to handle HN traffic. Not a good look for Render as a service, especially when their first item under product is autoscaling.

I think that is really reasonable. I’ve always felt weird with flagging too because there’s no reason attached. Even if it’s not displayed in the UI, it would be nice to have something in the html if a link gets enough flags for ai. Would let people css filter them out.

Considering YC invests in AI I doubt you’ll get anything of the sort. Too many people here also think you just have to give in and accept (abuser mentality IMO).

Did I say that? I’m being realistic and not drinking the Elon koolaid. I think starlink is great and it’s hugely improved life for a lot of people and made remote work a lot nicer.

You’re still limited to the transmission and receive capabilities of mobile devices which already struggle with current cell networks. I’m Not arguing it won’t be nice for people truly remote, but people keep acting like this will replace cell towers, which it won’t.

You can already try it with T-Mobile and it’s pretty limited. Great if you need sms and there’s no other towers around. Still requires line of sight.

I've seen some logs where a bunch of random ips were hitting a client's search endpoint feeding what looked like user questions to it. Of course none of them returned anything useful but it was causing a lot of strain and even causing the site to go down (gotta love wordpress's stock search).

I'm guessing the training companies are taking real/synthesized user queries and trying to distill what they can from site searches.

Solar doesn’t produce that much waste either and that was the point. Just because you don’t see the nuclear waste doesn’t mean it isn’t sitting there somewhere. The person was acting as if clean energy is dirty via its waste. For the record I’m all for nuclear - it’s insane we’ve regressed so much and not invested into more. But it’s also insane we’re not taking more advantage of green energy where we can.

And the person you replied to probably doesn’t realize spent nuclear fuel has really no where to go other than long term storage.

People keep making this analogy not understanding that trades folks will use the right tool for the job, not just whatever is newer / more advanced. Air nailers exist but hammers are still used. Drills can screw in screws but screwdrivers are still used. You wouldn’t use an electric drill for a lot of jobs. People will also try to equate it to an electric saw vs hand saw, but again time and place for both.

Well interface on mobile devices vs traditional computers is a bit different. Game devs can’t even have consistent controller support. Supporting touch is almost never worth it.

Still seems weird to give fable credit when the heavy lifting was already done.

You can but it’s a lot slower.

I leave my phone connected 24/7 and don’t notice any downsides. Only have to disable it on some networks when traveling to make awful captive portals work.

Lot of forums would even solve it by having anything goes sections.

It’s also just pretty obvious ai slop.
