Love how absolutely engorged and broken this web page is to dramatically depict a style that - were the article actually just published in plain text - would be what... a millionth the size? Should have known better than to be surprised that the "source code" one can "download" and "look through" is in a goddamned PDF.

I do truly wonder if the fact that he was publishing a PDF as downloadable "code" even caused him any pause lol.

Can I just ask - forgive the potential ignorance - if EVs have been proven to be less net carbon emitting with their manufacturing and expected disposal emissions factored in?

Sorry... I'm gonna stop definitively just tossing content on here when I think it might be interesting and occurs to me. The two? times I've been on the front page (including this one) have been (not exactly intentional) and embarrassing.

I hope this isn't too unrelated, but I've named [bigassfans.com](https://bigassfans.com) my Best World Wide Web Site of The Year Award for 13 years in a row!

Definitely a relevant topic, I'd say, especially if the discussion help any stragglers over the "edge" into finally using a password manager. (As far as I'm concerned, it is absolutely a requisite for all digital citizens in 2023.) ((And kinda has been for 10+ years but ya know.))

I'm closing in on 5000 credentials in 1Password, personally, but my collected vaults/database is 15+ years old now and definitely has [problematic duplicates](https://github.com/1Password/solutions/issues/1).

After a lengthy-enough sample of semi-formal self-observation, I'm averaging:

- signing in/authenticating 10 times/day (including weekends,) and most of those are repeats with the same service. - Almost 10 new accounts/credentials per week. (Granted, I'm pretty darn indiscriminate about doing so while exploring.)

Without tangenting too far, if anyone has any advice about how to constructively normalize password management (even just as an abstract) for end users - whatever that may mean - I'd love to hear it.

Though I can't imagine this is going to be particularly constructive, I've spent a lifetime on the lookout for any opportunity to brag about the names I've given various hardware devices because they're quite funny.

Perhaps - for end users/non-admins - it'd be best to point first to a list of "favorite" names??

Here are my favorites of mine, which have all notably performed the function of a unique system name quite admirably:

- Gravel (iPhone 8 Plus)

- Jorts (iPhone 12 Pro Max)

- Hildur (Desktop PC)

- [Kudzu](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kudzu) (iPad Pro)

- Winterkorn (Wireless OBD2 Scanner)
