Every contract has some crap in for what seems like unlikely scenarios. If you can’t negotiate it out it is either that or the highway. If these startups could get YC funding they probably would have. So for some it is accept a possible imperfect contract or back to employment. Employment itself being full of contracts with crap clauses as well as common law itself having crap. Show me the perfect contract!

Would have been nice for the bankruptcy company (what is the term… administrator? receiver?) to try to sell the portfolio of investments as-is to another VC. This may have both kept the startups alive and got them more $ overall for creditors. Maybe this would have been more doable in 2020!

AI plus machinery could make “home made” looking stuff but cheapos will keep going to ikea and there will still be a market.

If I didn’t need to make much money and just stay occupied probably do walking tours for free in untouristy places (think the “boring” countryside between cities that ain’t in any guidebooks) or just for a bit of cash walk people’s dogs at the park.

Robots may eventually do these things but to a dog a robot won’t smell like a human so they are the last to be fooled. I imagine in 2050 everyone will have a dog (bred to be small and generally dosile and easy to train) to sniff people for bot detection.

In reality if you have O(N^1000000) that is still going to be a killer for our exponential increasing computers. For any N you can wait for computation to catch up but N*2 will stomp you for quite a while.

However I have extended it here to any situation where you have systems in place that you can tweak over say hiring 3 staff and treating them very individually and not having much of an overarching plan.

I worked places where you had one star sales person with 20 years of experience in the industry and that person could sell like mad but if they left you lose all that there is no system around it. But in the short term paying that person overtime and getting out their way makes for a good quarter. But long term the org doesn’t learn anything.
