Sorry, but being an engineer is different than knowing your way around "code and stuff". Being an engineer is also different than being a computer scientist or programmer. The authors studied arts and mathematics, but that didn't stop them from starting the post by making it look like its written by engineers:

I really don't think being called a Youtuber is meant as negative. I take issue with how the writer chose to present this story. If this was about the intricacies of ad revenue on YouTube for example, great, no need to specify he also has a physics degree. But I'm disappointed to see them paint him as just a guy who "likes to break down funky science" (and made 10k off a physicist) when he is more than that, with relevance to the actual story. For someone who doesn't know his work, he might as well be one of the guys burning snow with lighters a few months ago to prove its fake snow...

I see your point, but the title and first paragraphs try to paint the picture of a "funky science" youtuber betting a UCLA physicist $10k and winning (which for me is very different to the truth: UCLA physicist bets another physicist $10k and loses)

I still don't see how our individual actions can have a widespread impact regarding climate change, sure, it will have some effect, but I'm willing to bet it would add up to fractions in the end. Is this "winter is coming", "the end is near" tone helpful? I'm not necessarily saying it's outright false, but look, there've been past times where the end truly felt near, but we managed to overcome it... Honest question: Shouldn't we hedge our bets at this point and also start investing heavily in infrastructure that helps mitigate the worst of the effects? (Flood management, water desalination, cloud seeding, etc.) I feel the race to zero emissions is a trendy topic now in media, but perhaps we are past the "we can still stop bad things from happening" point.

I don't fully agree, as a more quiet person I don't feel excluded... Sometimes listening in to a conversation is enough, and in my experience people tend to group together such that everyone ends up chiming in their opinion...

Would new shots adapted to novel strains have to pass the same trial process as the first versions of the vaccine? Or are there some provisions for an even faster approval? I don't know how it works for the flu vaccine.

I think its good documentaries like this are made, so a greater audience gets attuned with these issues, but I for one could not get further than about 30-mins... I was honestly disappointed that such an important topic was deemed too "complex" and "nerdy" that the creators decided to resort to actors to show us the effects of these technologies... Which I guess is in line with the short attention spans caused by social media :/

I quoted what was on the page when I read it. They changed it at least twice, the last time I checked it said something about Bosch Sensortec, and I had to Google it to see if they were related to the glasses. They since apparently added that in as well.
