BC stopped emission testing 10ish years ago because new cars almost never fail so there wasn't much value continuing the program.

I added a new head unit to my 13 year old Santa Fe, it is like a new car now, wireless Android Auto. Connects quick, bigger nicer screen. Should allow me to keep the car for another 10 years assuming I don't blow up another engine, only the first one is free.

Just having a good photographer is amazing. When my friend was selling their place I was amazed and how good the house looked in the listing. How big it looked, when I know it was not big. This was before AI filters were available. So not a new issue but certainly made worse and cheaper to do.

And time. I have archived some of my collection, but it does take a lot of time to rip the disks, test that they worked correctly. Then years later find out you did something wrong and there is no sound anymore, or you just got stereo and the surround mix is broken.

New planes don't have screens, they may have free wifi to watch stuff on your device. Of the 6 planes I have been on in the last two weeks only one had screens. Just back from vacation :)

On recent WestJet flights they announced that you can't use a power bank if there is seat power available, all the flights had seat power except the smallest plane (Dash 8) and that flight was only 18 minutes. They also didn't want any batter powered devices in the overhead compartments.

On the 737s there were only two plugs per 3 seats so not everyone could be plugged in.

Unlike google glass they don't look weird. Unless you know what to look for you will probably just think they are ray bans.

I had a lanboy? case that came with a carry strap. The case was also mostly aluminum so it was pretty light. Not many people had laptops back then. Managers at work maybe had one. Most people had a proper desktop.

This does not appear to be support by SOAP or WCF. From the SOAP specification:

The critical note is the output for streamed, or buffered must the the same so it does not look like infinite streams can be supported.

I also played with your sample application to see if there was any indication of the connection dropping.

I had an interesting result switching to the NetTcp binding. On the client it is unable to exit until the max size of the incoming message is hit. The server continues running as there are no sent message quotas.

This worked for me as well. I just asked the eye doctor for something that would work just past my out stretched finger tips which is where my monitor lives.

What kills me is going into the office where I am switching between glasses. Different rooms with different Zoom screens. At home is much nicer where I just have one big monitor to watch.

I take my glasses off to read my phone most of the time. Technically my primary glasses are progressives but it is nicer to take them off.

For things like LEGO they are mostly specific sets, so they get built and displayed like models by my kids. Rarely to they build random stuff like I did when I was little, with only a small amount of LEGO.

If you have more than 2 kids the minivan is the clear winner. A two row SUV can't hold 3 car seats, and even a 3 row SUV will have trouble, plus strapping kids in is way harder.

This is worse than a ghost job. HR running the hiring process when no team has a position. Even worse for the person applying as they are wasting more time than just sending their resume and cover letter to /dev/null @ corp.

Was very quick looking at my local MySql database. I liked being able to run sql against some local parquet files.

Would need to support Redshift via an ssh tunnel for me to use it on a regular basis. I don't want to manage the tunnel with a different tool.

That seems cheap for gas. 15h driving ~6l/100km 90l of gas. That would be over $200 in gas for me.

The downside of flexibility. Choose input method is the system list. Holding the space bar is the keyboard's method. I sometimes switch to a non-Google keyboard and the Choose input method way of switching is how I get back. I didn't know about the long press on the spacebar method, learned something new today.

I have all LG appliances. Washer & drier are 10+ years old, came with the house. Fridge, stove & dishwasher are newish (2 years old). So far they have been great. I really like the induction top on the stove, though having to match the pan size to the burner is a little annoying sometimes.

I thought I wanted a new car, but all I really wanted was Android Auto. Added a new touch screen to my 10 year old car, wireless Android Auto is great. I do wish there were a few more app icons at the bottom of the screen. I tend to switch between three apps and there are only buttons for two that are not maps or making calls.

Facebook, all Meta properties no longer allow sharing anything considered news in Canada. If you put in a link to a news site it will be blocked. At one point they were event blocking news satire. People sharing news now will drop in an image instead of a link. Much less useful.
