The startup I was with for over a year sadly had to let a bunch of core staff go about one month ago. So, I am currently available full time. Do you need a solid person to help with your data or related activities?

(As an aside, I also have a serious appreciation for "real hypertext" in the sense of Paul Otlet, Ted Nelson, and Doug Engelbart, in case that happens to resonate with your organization's ethos.)

IMHO Workplace was a fantastic product that filled a gap that is really is not filled by anything else today (although a lot of other tools might seem similar).

Probably, most people had and still have no real idea of the product's existence. And once people do learn of it, they still really have no idea what this kind of product can do for orgs (that is, how they could really use it).

I have to think that some of the magic comes from having an org and people in the org who know how to use such a tool?

It seemed an honest shot at really improving orgs based on communication and I was pretty jazzed about it. The remaining options are seem far sub-par in some ways (even if features look/seem similar, the overall gestalt is not the same IMO).

WHAT I BRING: I have both big and startup tech experience. I have done consulting and FTE work, and love both. I have a significant driving passion for technology as a potential aid for people, particularly real hypertext as applicable to helping people through IA in the Otletian/Nelsonian/Engelbartian sense.

You can run a NLS/Augment in the emulator made available by the Computer History Museum, I think. I did. It was fun.

Not sure if you can see the "text" above, but 1Slate is a free public forum offering a uniquely simplified and (IMO) elegant "real hypermedia" implementation.

There is utility in the relatively simple N-way linking with tranclusion (reuse objects) and in-context autosuggest, consistent edge meaning (support), 5-bin statistics, unlimited private collaborators, etc.

What do you think? Does this speak to ANYONE?

Uneducated conjecture: They're not just any floating points, they are doubles. You need twice the capacity of one (32-bit double) in order to fake 64 bits. I assume that this helps meet the requirements of other pieces being hacked together.

Sure, posts to HN (or, say, most such places) should probably point to the original source unless some value is added in the other site. I can see that some value is added to subscribers of that Posterous feed, however, since it means fewer links to follow and guarantees readable text. So, I am unconvinced that this is a problem with the Posterous community. The reposter is minimizing the effort to consume content for his followers. That the souece link is small is inconsequential--the entire quotation is explicitly formatted and hence immediately understood as such. All one has to do to see the original formatting, discussion, etc. is follow a link; maybe the Posterous user estimates that less than the weighted majority of his audience wants to visit the full site at the point of Posterous consumption. To criticize the use of what is really a feed aggregator for doing just that is a bit like criticizing evolution. Maybe the reposter decided that the content was important enough to reproduce in full to increase the odds of its consumption by his subscribers. Hell, I'll read Jessica Livingston's textual content in Posterous but rarely follow most links from gmail if just catching up on a mobile device. In fact, an arument might be made that a higher quality of content/traffic is achieved in the long run for Quora due to the ability of posts like this to dissemminate its content.

That said, I barely use Posterous, so a member of the "community" would be in a better position to comment (and maybe this has already occurred theough the upvoting of the parent), but I felt like the parent had some pretty harsh words which needed to be addressed due to their generality.
