I remapped pressing jk kj kk jj to escape. As a regular vim user, only sometimes do I actually press i to insert, usually it's cw, a, s, etc.

Y2k. People act like it was a nothing because we fixed everything, but it wouldn't have been a nothing if we didn't fix everything!

To be happy, you must define something as a source of happiness. Smart people might be more nuanced or finnicky about actually making such a determination.

It would be similar to governance for crypto's. Take the lessons of the open source community, apply them too legal code. Take the successes up crypto governances, and apply them to political seats. I can tell your frustration and skepticism means it must be a good idea! I feel quite good about putting seats in high offices in the hands of those who own the most of a digital token.

"But underneath that is profound loneliness – the kind only a genius in a world full of idiots could possibly understand." Are you mind-reading loneliness into Scott(he has never said he's lonely)? Btw the edgy cartoons are the funny ones. Are we not allowed to talk about the new vectors people take advantage of in the new system? That in and of itself seems like a vector(create a problem people aren't allowed to talk about).

I still think it's funny that the ruby on rails creator didn't have enough experience for a job in ruby on rails in a jobpost that required a temporally impossible number of years experience.

Oh wow, I'm a vim user and i have yet to hear about this. It's basically a version of vim with more goodies? Does it run in terminal and gui?

Processing confusion is a biggie in dealing with the forces of humanity around you and distinguishing a sense of self in the pandemonium. Addressing confusing on a test is also important, to know whether or not you are guessing, and spending more or less time accordingly, even skipping and coming back(because other questions can actually give you the answer, or the mental waypoint for retrieving it).

This is another reason why using password managers is good. I let it auto fill, so if I got redirected to a bad domain, it wouldn't autofill, and I'd double-check the domain.

how is there not a decentralized social network yet? Maybe a similar interface, like the main operating system, and maybe multiple 3rd parties hosts, but something like wordpress for social networks... like if everyone's facebook page were merely hosted on their own server ( or they paid a 3rd party a couple bucks a month ). Then, no more ads, and we get more of the geocities guestbook appeal.

I will agree that the change of not having a automatic stream of income, to having a stream of income, is quite a successful, satisfying feeling. I've not yet done enough simulations and calculations on whether or not UBI or what else is best. At least UBI would be more efficiently spent gov dollars than any other program. Every dollar the government spends is probably about as 10% as effective as just giving the money directly to people, but then it creates jobs, culture, etc. Like I said, I dunno what the perfect mix would be, will do some simulations one day to design the perfect societal/governance policies.. or maybe AI will beat me to it. Optimizing for happiness while reducing unhappiness, without scapegoating... what were we talking about? kinda went on a rant there.

In theory... the most satisfying checkbox would take your inner most desire, that you've been trying for the longest time... and when you check the box, it completes the desire. Visually it doesn't matter as much as the function. Like checking something off your bucket list is more satisfying than checking something off the grocery list. I don't know if the visual component is as important as what is actually functionally done. "beware the pleasures of the eyes" As I get older, I am more and more skeptical of people trying to influence my emotions.

The later they start, then the less time they'll have to get in trouble after school. Basically no one gets in trouble BEFORE school, right? Oh wait.. I got suspended once before school. Is there any studies on whether or not people are more likely to get in trouble based on time of day?

This reminds me of Blame! where humans are living light rats in the belly of the machine. Lol, also reminds me of the geocities days where we created 50 accounts to upload dragon ball z videos.
