I've had to do the same this summer in the UK. It's the first time we've had weather hot enough to trigger a problem, but it has been CRAWLING. :(

I do fear that cars are going to have the opposite problem to phones... Where Apple sacrifices battery life for unnecessary thin-ness, I fear car companies will sacrifice it for unnecessary speed and size.

Edit: and who knows what'll happen if Apple gets into the electric car business!

As it happens, another great place to learn these skills is by volunteering with youth military cadet forces (in the UK, the Army, Air or Sea cadets.) I'm not sure how prevalent these are in the US? (I guess this is an example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Cadet_Alliance)

Really, any branch of the military in any country in the world. They all teach the same.

Presumably this tool is not for Windows sysadmins, it's for Linux/Unix sysadmins who also have to manage some Windows machines...

We did this - Cancelled Sky in favour of Netflix + Now TV's Entertainment bundle.

Not looked back, despite the many, many calls from Sky.

I'd suggest you have a long, detailed, open and honest conversation with this person about the future of your company and your working relationship. Part of being a responsible co-founder is dealing with problems head on, and finding a way to work through them.

It strikes me that if you can't see a third option: Working with this co-founder to improve your collective situation, then the company has already failed and you may as well move on.

I've had no problems with USB-C on my Nexus 5x, personally. Certainly 100x better than Micro USB.

I don't think as a connector it has the polish of the lightning adapter, but I also don't think it would be a disaster if Apple switched to using it.

I really love the branch-level access control on Bitbucket. Being able to say that developers A,B,C have access to the repo, but only A can push to master, is incredibly useful.

A better petition would have been to ban <IE10 use within Government organisations.

There's no way in the world that the Govt. could ban IE outright.

I really like the sound of #1. Would you consider building a PHPCI plugin for it? I think it would be quite popular, especially the version targeting reporting.

There's a big part of it that is based on the incorrect assumption that if someone is in the office 9-5, they are working 9-5. That and the ability to directly monitor people, interrupt them whenever you want to, and so on.

The other part of it is slightly more understandable, which is to enable you to collaborate better with the other members of the team. Developers are often more likely to turn to someone they are sat near and bounce an idea off them than they are to write a question in an email, IM or chat room.

I would say yes. PHP Storm, if nothing else, is a lot more system friendly for me than any other IDE I have tried (incl. Aptana, Zend Studio, Netbeans, etc.)

It seems like a good idea - but the site as it stands now doesn't give me any confidence that any VCs will actually see proposals, and even if they do, that they would take it seriously. Are any VCs on board currently?

You need to find some way to get way more information into the pitches... For example financials, forecasts, a plan. I can't imagine ever investing in something based solely on a short, free-form text pitch (and I'm not a VC.)

Also just a little note on tone - going back to my first point, I'm not sure any VC would take kindly to the idea of "Get Spammed" - You might also want to be careful with your test data ("some rich fart" for example) lest you put off any VCs that happen to see this whilst it is on HN.
