Scales to very high numbers of connected clients, and is faster on the low end and faster on the high end. Beating both the default per-thread and the Enterprise Edition thread_pool connection handler. Enjoy!

Creator of Apache CouchDB here. Fireproof is a very clever system for building secure, collaborative apps. Your apps can work offline and when connected automatically sync changes to local storage and display them immediately to the UI. It has much of that same CouchDB magic with almost no complexity or headache on the backend.
Very coo…errr…hot!
You’re probably thinking about cars bought by the federal gov.
My understanding is it’s from car racing. Putting sandbags in during qualifying to make min weight. Then removed during the race to make the car lighter and faster.
Its high, but it’s really not that excessive over the course of a day: https://cspinet.org/eating-healthy/ingredients-of-concern/ca...
Anecdote: about 2-3 years ago I was using about 10g/day kratom and 1gm/day caffeine to deal with chronic fatigue and muscle pain.
I was dependent on both for about 12 months just to function (without them I had a hard time getting out of bed or anything done). But the combo helped to finally get regular exercise, which helped with sleep, which helped me to heal.
The caffeine was _much_ harder to kick than the kratom. A full week of headaches and fatigue due to caffeine withdrawal.
When people talk of kratom being bad because it produces dependency, why don’t they talk of caffeine in the same way? What real negative effects does the kratom have if used long term? My experience says there is none. And all this handwringing is simply due to lack of familiarity.
Here’s a link that describes the Couchstore file format. It’s the storage engine for Couchbase and is essentially the same design as CouchDB. https://github.com/couchbaselabs/couchstore/wiki/Format
It _is_ append only. But doesn’t use flat files. The main storage files have 2 different immutable btrees to find documents (by id and by sequence num). And it does have mvcc for both storage and secondary indexes. Internally it has transactions but they aren’t exposed to the user, as multi document transactions don’t make sense for the replicated document model.
They are currently getting sued by their investors. They'll be bankrupt completely within a year.
Could be that legit apps have legit versions of those components.
That part also confuses me.
Really? A spiders reaction to caffeine is your reason? I just quit caffeine. I'm ready for some conformation bias to justify my decision, but this is pretty weak.
Or some sort of cleaning mechanism on the sensor. A "wiper" if you will.
BLM == Bureau of Land Management
(Leaving this here for anyone like me who had to google why Black Lives Matter has anything to do with tourism)
One very morbid question I have is were some of the jumpers actually pushed? Some of the pictures you see people crowding to the few available edges, a crush of bodies trying to breath. Wouldn't some of the people on the edges have been pushed by those further inside?
It claims to be a useful tool for pen testing. I call bullshit. Destroying a device is hardly the same as penetrating a device. Does this have a legitimate use case?
I'd certainly give him a better chance at success than most athletes have post career. He might be the next Magic Johnson. But as Michael Jordan has shown, tenacity and work ethic on the court don't necessarily translate to business success.
What? Of course they can wait longer. Wait until the surge is over.
You mean the field that predicted the last 80 of 8 recessions.
Trying many different supplements.
Thought maybe I had mold in my house. Tested that. Maybe I'm allergic to my bedding. Got s new mattress and beefing.
Thought it might be kidney related since I had back pain in my flanks. Thought it might be my gallbladder. Thought it might be my liver. Tried various foods and supplements. Nothing helped.
Thought it might be thyroid related perhaps due to iodine deficiency. So I started taking table salt that has iodine in it. Started feeling less muscle pain immediately. Then started iodine tablet supplements. Pain returned. Then tried just salt tablets. Found relief. Then researched and found adrenals regulate sodium. Then found out licorice root blocks an enzyme that metabolizes cortisol, which is produced by your adrenal glands. Tried that. Fatigue disappeared. Sleep improved. Pain gone. Started losing weight.
So basically trial and error over many months. I'm only mentioning a small number of things I tried. Doctor was no help. But a better Doctor probably would have suggested better tests and things to try. But how would a normal person know their doctor is letting them down? Shit is hard.
The reason I wrote my long response was because you said exercise was painful. Sure, if you overdo it, it can be painful to anyone. But it's not supposed to painful. Uncomfortable sure, tiring sometimes yes.
But not painful. Afterward you should feel alert and relaxed. And in reasonable amounts it should feel like it is increasing what you can get done. Usually anyway.
If not, something is wrong. Hopefully something that can be treated.
Good luck to you! Health can be very tricky. In so many ways health and wellness is still in the dark ages. So many incomplete models and misinformation. I've been there and feel bad for anyone else bewildered because they don't fit into mainstream ideas of how their bodies are supposed to work.
Wondering if you might have an undiagnosed medical condition.
I've been very a active exerciser my whole adult life. It's part of my identity.
Last year I started suffering from chronic fatigue. Exercise began to hurt. It hurt when I did it. It hurt afterward. I was tired all the time. I was gaining weight. I stopped exercising. It brought me no relief. Only resting did.
I knew something was wrong. Went to Doctor. Treated me like I'm a lazy ass who doesn't know how to care for myself. Fuck that dr.
I was on my own to figure this. I finally found out a treatment that works. Salt supplements and licorice root to address adrenal insufficiency. Day and night difference.
I feel bad for anyone who goes through something like that. It's not fair. And many people are dismissed by the medical establishment when they need help and compassion. It's awful how people get treated when they are sick but don't have the standard common diseases. The whole system sucks.
If it weren't for a long history of excellent health and fitness, I might thought I just don't like exercise. And never have the motivation to figure out how to get better.
Then they should have invested in companies that have stricter controls, or put their money somewhere safer w/ more transparency. That some investors are unsophisticated doesn't absolve them of liability.
Sure, with forced acquisitions when the business is failing or non-competitive.
If the business is otherwise competitive but the owners sued out of existence, it's nonsensical for new owners to dismantle it.
The investors lose. The companies are liquidated and the assets bought by new investors. This actually happened to GM, to a degree. The workers don't have to lose out.
Shareholders are not innocent. It's their responsibility to bear, albeit limited, financial risk. It's therefore prudent for them to demand companies uphold legal and moral obligations, or move capital into ventures that will. Failure to do so means they are more likely to lose their investments.
"OOP to me means only messaging, local retention and protection and hiding of state-process, and extreme LateBinding of all things."
What he's describing is the essence of Erlang.
If you can quit your job for any reason in an at-will state, then it seem logical you can quit before actually starting.
ICU would still be necessary for collation and case conversion.
